Converse Malaysia is proud to announce its Jack Purcell Pop Up Store that will take over Offday Bangsar located at Jalan Telawi 3 on 21st August 1, 2014.

This is also to showcase the newest range of The Converse Jack Purcell “Cross-Stitch”.The Fall 2014 Converse Jack Purcell sneaker collection introduces the all-new Converse Jack Purcell Cross Stitch – a waxed cotton cross-stitch detail – outfitted in leather, a core texture for seasonal dressing. The premium and quality leather materials and subtle stitching details in the sneaker collection are refined and built with all around comfort.

Whilst everyone has heard of Converse, Jack Purcell has been around creating sneakers since 1935. The classic sneaker with its iconic “smile” toecap perfected the brand as a household favourite stylish sneaker. Converse Jack Purcell has been moving the brand into the vintage-classy direction and re-outfitted in sophisticated soft tumbled leather.

This pop-up store serves as a visual curation of Irman Hilmi’s Offday retail experimentation; where it specialises in capturing the old-school appeal in premium menswear with a little bit of punk rock influence that work hand-in-hand with Converse Jack Purcell’s old school appeal with the ala-Americana direction. This will be a good collaboration to be witnessed.

Converse Get Loud Competition

Converse Malaysia has recently launched an online campaign and music video competition across their social media platforms.

Keeping true to the spirit of rock n’ roll music which is in line with the global campaign of Sneakers Get Loud, Converse will be allowing the new talents to be heard throughout the nation on top of giving away up to RM20,000 in cash and prizes through the “How Loud Can You Get” video competition which requires bands and musicians alike to submit their videos to Converse which will be voted by the community.

The highest voted bands will be playing live at the Get Loud Tour Finale on October 6th.

The local rock scene is nothing but quiet these days with bands coming out of all around the country making it to international concerts and festivals.

None of these would’ve happened without the hard work and determination of the Malaysian rock community that kept it real and getting loud through the airwaves and rock shows.

This year, Converse Malaysia celebrates such talents by hosting a music series across 3 major cities in the Peninsular along with some well-known lineups in the rock scene.

Johnsons Motorcar To Shamrock To Merdeka

Cross-cultural Celtic rock band, Johnsons Motorcar will be rocking the stage exclusively at Malones in ushering to the Hari Merdeka this weekend.

Be ready to tune in to a pure form of Irish music by the band, which interestingly hails from Tokyo, Japan but come from diverse cultural backgrounds.

JMC in short, is made up of lead vocalist and fiddler Martin Johnson who is a native of Florida, guitarist Blacko Muiri (Dublin), bassist Coleman Bayliss (Australia) and petite lady drummer Rinamame, also known as ‘Beanie’ (Japan).
