Panasonic Lumix Marine Case Launch @ Luna Bar

On Thursday 2nd of July 2009, I’ve attended the Panasonic Lumix Marine Case Launch at Luna Bar, Pacific Regency Suite, thanks to Jen Ni..

Got to know Jen Ni long before the era of commercialization of blogging and only few selected bloggers were invited..Isn’t it great? LOL~!!

The event is actually the launching of Panasonic Lumix Marine Case, an underwater casing for Lumix camera..

It actually provides an opportunity for Lumix users to bring any of their Lumix to go underwater water and snap around..

*The introduction of the Marine Case and Mr Simon, a prominent underwater photographer*

Mr. Simon, a special guest that is invited to give a short introduction of what underwater photography is..

He is, of course, being a prominent underwater photographer has a lot to share and some of his photos were being showcased to the crowd..

Well I guess underwater photography is one of the thing I should try to further enhance my lust on photography wtf..

*Few of the whole Panasonic team*

So far, there are 4 models of Marine Case for its Lumix cameras..

The Marine Case are DMW-MCFT1E, DMW-MCFX40E, DMW-MCTZ7E, and NAUTILUS LX3 for Lumix cameras of FT1, FX48, TZ7, and LX3 respectively..

*Models holding the Marine Cases and their respective Lumix*

That’s the Marine Case to house the Lumix camera..One might think it’s a bit bulky but when you think twice, it’s just almost the same size as a DSLR..

And logically, it’s good to be so bulky that the casing is thick enough to hold the compression and pressure underwater, where its waterproof strength can sustain up to 40-meter down below sea-level..

From some of the details of the photos that were provided to us, I must say that the Lumix cameras worked perfectly fine just the way it works on land..

Some photos were taken with just ISO100 and the shutter speed could go up to 1/125, and perhaps 1/20 at lowest..Not sure if flash is being used but the photos are very sharp, with the usual bokeh and all..

*The invited bloggers..L>R - Yours truly, ChrisTock, Jen Ni, Howard, Hikaru, and Rames*

After the introduction, guests were treated with dinner, free flow of drinks, and some games were thrown in as well..

Continue for more of the events..

*Rank the photos*

There was a contest for its guests, where the guests have to rank the 20 underwater photos given, to match the rankings of a professional photographer..

The participant with most matches could walk away with a Lumix camera..

*Drinking contest*

Then a drinking contest was being played, Mr Simon, being a white he is, never fail to impress the crowd with his tremendous drinking skill..

He finished the glass of beer in like, 5 seconds? It’s like drinking plain water to him I guess..No sweat..

Mr Onishi (in purple), finished second..

*Dancing contest*

After the drinking game, came the dancing competition..Rames actually volunteered being forced by us to go up the stage to dance..

I swear that Rames is one hell of a good dancer..He can shake his booty very well *grins* Way to go Bollywood~!!! :P

By the way, why I didn’t see you go clubbing one ah? LOL :P

*Results*

The event ended with the announcement of the winners for most matches made on the underwater photos..

The highlights ended around 9pm and we were pretty much bumming around that place with free flow of drinks and somewhat camwhoring around..Bloggers =__=

Talk about camwhoring, none of us bloggers win the photo-ranking thing wtf..Failed miserably~!!

*Ideas for life*

Thanks to Jen Ni once again for inviting us to event and for the great hospitality..

You guys have done a great job~!!

Jen Ni, we should hang out again to catch things up..Bring Jenai and A-Vys along..LOL~!!
