Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge 2011

Formula One come and go like a gust of wind, heavy news headlines of strong contenders every new season and winners are no longer the usual suspects of the red colour, if you get what I mean ;)

Formula One (F1) was almost as boring as attending a History class when Mika Hakkinen retired from F1, until 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button joined McLaren Mercedes in 2010 and teamed up with the youngest world champion so far, Lewis Hamilton..

Check out the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship Race Calender..

Johnnie Walker, the World’s number one Scotch whisky, which is one of my favourites, and global partner for Formula One team McLaren Mercedes, once again will be bringing Malaysians the ultimate VVIP after-race party experience to Kuala Lumpur, the Black Circuit Lounge..

*Step Inside The – Black Circuit Lounge*

This highly anticipated event is an inside-look at the glamorous lifestyle of global racing that Johnnie Walker has privileged access to and of course to bring that experience to normal citizens like me :D

On Saturday April 9th 2011, Johnnie Walker will once again organizing the Black Circuit Lounge, an official race party of the Malaysian Grand Prix and host the crème de la crème of Malaysian society where party-goers will be treated to V-VIP privileges and a high-flying lifestyle by the likes of McLaren Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button and of course other drivers..

I’ve been to a few small-scale Black Circuit events few years back but I bet those are definitely not anything like this Black Circuit Lounge which I think any party-goer would die for it, just saying..

Stop Motion, Time Lapse On KL View

STOP MOTION FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU~!!! *raise hands up in the air and profusely shaking crotch*

I guess most of you have seen my GIF images and all..All these while I’ve been planning something as big as this one..

It’s called Stop Motion or maybe Time Lapse, I’m not sure..I think Time Lapse best describe the theme of my project as Stop Motion often related to animations by using certain objects..

In this project, patience is the key to success..

Why so? Because for what I’m showing here is taken in 2 hours time, from 3pm to 5pm..And in that 2 hours time, 202 photos had been snapped, with each photo taken every 20-40 seconds..

The sky has been hazy for the past few weeks due to forest burning and all, and on that very day, 24th August 2009, Monday, the sky was bright and blue..

Got my camera readied on the tripod, set aperture to F10, adjust shutter speed accordingly to get constant exposure of +0.7..

So I started to press the shutter button on the house balcony for straight 2 hours..

Due to the exhaustion of the camera battery because I didn’t charge it up before I snapped, I’ve got 202 photos until the battery was dried up..

Then, opened my SONY Vegas Movie software, compiled all of the 202 photos, insert a nice song, voila! I’m done..

Enjoy the relaxing video with a relaxing song from Spirited Away OST, Day of The River, composed by Joe Hisaishi..

Oh, remember to watch it on FULL SCREEN MODE~!!!!

I know it’s not a perfect video but I must say I gave it a nice try, and it’s only my 3rd attempt, after the first two failed..

There’s still plenty of space for improvement..So I plan to charge up my battery and snap up to at least 500 photos to make up for my wonderful project..

Timeout KL Presents On The Up @ No Black Tie – January

The every Wednesday of the third week of the month, Timeout KL presents On The Up, a music night at No Black Tie, in Jalan Mesui, next to Palate Palatte..

Again, some of us music lovers were there to support our local acts..All photos credits to David..

*L>R – Aaron, Me, Nigel*

*David and HsuJen*

The night kicked off with 2StoreyHeart, with only the vocalist, George Wong, playing that night..

*George Wong of 2StoreyHeart*

I must say that George is quite a talented composer, although most of the songs are very similar in terms of tunes and rhythms..

The only significant thing that differentiate the songs are the lyrics..Mostly emo songs..

The songs that he played that night were not bad, just that he screamed too much in his songs, although I must say that he controlled it very well..

Although it sounded loud, it didn’t really make my eardrums want to burst or whatsoever..

Perhaps he need to be more creative in his composing, instead of using the same tune for every song..

Then came second act of the night, Broken Scar..

*Broken Scar..Sorry don’t have a photo of the drummer*

Being a veteran in the music industry, Broken Scar definitely rocked the house down, with vocalist  Kevin Teh showed a great showmanship..

The other members of Alda Tan on bass, Paul Chuah (of Qings & Kueens) on guitar, and Alex Ang on drums did a great job too..

They invited violinist, Rohnie Tan to perform with them too..He’s great too! The first time I saw him performed together with Rendra Zawawi..Great job!

*Wonderful showmanship by guitarist and vocalist, Kevin Teh*

I just can’t get enough of Broken Scar after that..They are simply awesome..

Then third act of the night, Izzy Mohamed..Seriously, I thought Izzy Mohamed is a guy, until I saw HER on the stage~!

*Izzy Mohamed*

Izzy was doing great too..Slow melodic tune and together with her collaboration of Alda on the bass (again), a drummer, and also a female pianist..Nice songs..

*Secret Love Affair*

Secret Love Affair plays music of rock fusion..Indeed, I was amazed by their performance..

It gave me a feeling of Jamiroquai fusioned with The Killers, where electronica jazz meets 70′s rock style..

I enjoyed myself with the last act but the vocals were simply plain and under par..They seriously have to improve on the lyrics part..

Overall I am really satisfied with all of the performances, quite a rare case..LOL..

Of course, I’m looking forward to another gig by Broken Scar and the likes from any other veterans..

Timeout KL Presents On The Up – January

Yes, it’s the day of the month again, third week of the month and it’s On The Up, music night by Timeout KL, on 21st of January, Wednesday..

Again it’s at No Black Tie in Jalan Mesui, next to Palate Palatte only, starts at 8.30pm..Of course, it’s advisable for you to reserve a table or two if you are coming in group..

After a great night with Rendra Zawawi on my last visit back in November 2008 and I’ve missed the one in December 2008, I’m looking forward to this one..

Why you say? Because of its great line-up of artistes..

They have singer songwriter 2StoreyHeart, followed by acoustic singer songwriter Izzy Mohamed..Then they also have fusion rock group Secret Love Affair..

*Secret Love Affair, taken from their Myspace*

Check out Izzy’s Myspace and Secret Love Affair’s..

And last but not least, Brokenscar is in the house this time~!! The moniker of singer songwriter Kevin Teh, who sometimes perform alone, in a trio setting and a full on band..

First Comedy Thursday Of 2009 By Timeout KL

Yes people..It’s the first Thursday of 2009 and it’s Comedy Thursday again~!!

I still remember my first visit to Little Havana for Comedy Thursday and it was a night to remember because Hishamuddin Rais was there..

My second visit wasn’t really bad too..Team leader Chi Ho made it very well..I had some good laughs before 2008 ended..BEST~!!

This time around, the line-up is long haired guy Alfred, Zac (yet again), Yugi, Sri and Ian..

*Timeout KL host, Matt Salleh and comedian Alfred*

*Yugi Bear*

Well I’m not sure who is Sri and Ian but I’m expecting something good from them..

And please no more let down performance ala Davina Goh..It’s irritating and I don’t think it will be a crowd puller..

Be there at Little Havana on 8th January 2009 at 8.30pm to kick start your 2009 with some good laughs..

Anyway, check out the RM10 voucher HERE..

Secret Santa On Christmas Day @ Michaelangelo’s, Pavillion KL

After a chaotic wonderful booze party on Christmas’ Eve, I joined another gang the next day at Michaelangelo’s in Pavillion Kuala Lumpur for a Christmas Dinner cum secret Santa outing..

We did it last year at TGIF in Pavillion too..Was supposed to eat at La Bodega but it was damn packed..So we changed our route..

*The people*

Attendees were, Hikaru, Rames, Hiew, Junn, Jason, Ryan, Jed, Jen, Cherrie, Eunice, Kate, Jacklyn, Madeline, and ME..

Michaelangelo’s is another Italian restaurant, serve spagetthis, pastas, pizzas, steaks, etc etc..Like any other Italian restaurant..

I would say I was surprised with the price on the menu..It’s very affordable albeit its nice interior design, which I thought was a true fine dine restaurant..

Well too bad there is no food pics in this entry coz we were too hungry to take photos of the foods. We had our dinner at freaking 9pm okay..

But, I really must recommend this spagetthi that I had..I’ve forgotten then name as it’s in Italian..I only remember the descriptions, beef, mushroom, and olive oil..

It’s oh-so-yummy creamy and the portion is quite big, and creamy..The beef was damn nice and creamy..Did I say creamy?

If you want something different, try to order a pizza, I don’t know the name..The description is moon-shaped pizza..That’s all I remembered..LOL..

*The moon-shaped pizza and my beef spagetthi*

After eating,as usual, we did some camwhorings and all before our secret Santa thingy..Well, that’s the bunch of DSLR users we have..
