As the English football season 2011/12 is coming to an end, the FA Cup Final, Liverpool against Chelsea was played on 5th May 2012 at the Wembley Stadium with a crowd attendance of 89,102..

Here in Kuala Lumpur we have had our own party as well, supported by Tiger FC, football fans gathered and thronged the viewing party at SOULed Out, Hartamas..

The adrenaline-filled match was further intensified with Tiger FC’s stadium-like atmosphere, with avid football fans cheering for their favourite teams excitedly despite the match commencing in the wee hours of the morning..

*Chelsea fans are excited about the match*

I have somewhat supported for Chelsea in this match because they were really on-form in recent weeks while Liverpool is still trying to shake off their poor form..

Fans were treated to a street viewing party environment with plenty of amazing prizes and Tiger FC merchandises being given away throughout the night..

As Tiger FC is committed to the role of the “Fan of Real Fans” in full force, the Chelsea and Liverpool fans who declared their loyalty to their clubs upon registration were also given the exclusive Tiger FC jerseys..

*Tiger FC ambassadors*

Ramires opened the socring in the 11th minute to give Chelsea the lead and Chelsea were on attacking mode in the first-half of the match..

Not long after the match kickstarted into the second-half, Drogba gave Chelsea a two-goal lead in the 52nd minute..On-form Torres wasn’t in the starting line-up, nor he was substituted in in the second-half..

Andrew Carrollw was substituted in for Jay Spearing and he managed to score a goal about 10-minutes into the game, reviving Liverpool’s hope in the 64th minute..

*Liverpool fans cheering when Carroll scored*

It was in the second-half that Liverpool had played a better game as compared to the first-half, making Chelsea under pressured..

The 35-million pounds Andrew Carroll seemed to be getting on-form, at last, when he tried to score with a header in what may seemed like a goal but Petr Cech managed to pushed the ball out of the goal-line..

This may be another controversial match that will be remembered for years where it costs Liverpool a chance in perhaps, the extra-time..Chelsea won the FA Cup with a 2-1 score..

Being a follwer of English football since I was still in Primary school back in 1995, Roberto Di Matteo is definitely one of Chelsea’s regular players back then and now we can see he’s somewhat walking the path of Barca’s manager Pep Guardiola..

If he’s given a chance to become a full-time manager instead of a caretaker manager post in season 2012/13, I bet Chelsea would be one of the worthy opponents in the title contender..

*Lim Ju Lee, Senior Brand Manager of Tiger with the lucky winners*

Several lucky winners of the night walked away grinning from ear to ear when they won the 40-inch Sony LCD TV, RM1,000 Tiger FC prepaid card, as well as the exclusive framed Chelsea and Liverpool jerseys..

Now it’s time to prepare for the final week of the English Premier League Season 2011/12..

DISCLAIMER : This review is solely based on my personal opinion on an anime as an anime fan myself..It’s totally based on my own amateur knowledge which I’ve accumulated by watching most of the anime that I owned, check out my collection HERE..

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (often only known as Gurren Lagann) as it is known in Japan, is a Japanese mecha-anime television series animated by Gainax who is also responsible for Gunbuster, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and FLCL, and co-produced by Aniplex and Konami..

I think Gurren Lagann is one of the few original screenplays that is not adapted from a manga or video game because the anime was on air (1st April 2007) earlier than the so-called manga-adapted serialization on 27th April 2007..Correct me if I’m wrong..

Eden of The East is one of the examples of original screenplays that has a good plot..

Gurren Lagann is written by Kazuki Nakashima and directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi..With Gurren Lagann being his series director debut, Hiroyuki Imaishi won an individual award in Animation Kobe Awards in 2007..

Gurren Lagann is about the human kind living underground where the surface world is ruled by beastmen under the ruling of Spiral King (Rasen Oh), Lordgenome..

The 27-episodes anime starts with protagonists Simon (pronounced as Shi-mon), and another guy whom he treated as elder brother, Kamina..

Both of them tried to break into the surface to gain freedom and along the way, they’ve met beastmen in their mecha called Ganmen (or Gunmen)..

Their hot-bloodedness brotherly bond (or burning manly passion) gained them the Spiral Power and influenced people around them to join their force, called the Team Dai-Gurren..

Team Dai-Gurren went on to change the world by challenging Lordgenome..

In the first three episodes, I had a hard time trying to comprehend the logic of the anime because it’s not quite logical at all..

I can brain Gundam’s Newtype abilities, I can brain Macross’ singing to defeat the enemies, I can brain The Brave Fighter of Legend of Da-Garn’s combination of few robots to become super robot, but it was difficult in this case..

Although I can’t brain it, but the closer they get to the Spiral King Lordgenome, I can feel their hot-bloodedness and that’s what make this anime interesting..

Their hot-bloodedness or the burning manly passion to achieve their goal is the key-point and strength of Gurren Lagann..

*From L>R – Leeron, Yoko, Kamina, Simon*

The seiyuu for Kamina is Katsuyuki Konishi, who also voiced for Volfogg (GaoGaiGar series), America (Hetalia – Axis Power), Ozma Lee (Macross Frontier), Johann Trinity (Gundam 00), Shori Shibuya (Kyo Kara Maoh series), Phoenix Ikki (Saint Seiya: Hades Chapter), and Amidamaru (Shaman King)..

Simon is voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara, who is also the seiyuu for Natsu Dragneel (Fairy Tail), Fujioka (Minami-ke series), and Pegasus Tenma (Saint Seiya: Lost Canvas)..

Yoko is voiced by Marina Inoue, who also voiced for Shigeru Kanmuri (Yakitate! Japan), Kana Minami (Minami-ke series), and Chiri Kitsu (Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei series)..

Viral, being the supporting role in the anime, is voiced by veteran seiyuu Nobuyuki Hiyama, who has been a seiyuu for numerous characters including Teppei (B’tX series), Madarame Ikkaku (Bleach series), Koujiro Hyuga (Captain Tsubasa J), Joe Higashi (Fatal Fury series), Gai Shishio (GaoGaiGar series), Balmung (.hack series), Takeshi Nakazato (Initial D series), Mr. 3 (One Piece), Harry Mckenzie (School Rumble series), and Hiei (Yu Yu Hakusho series) among many others..

Their opening song (OP) is “Sorairo Days” by Shoko Nakagawa, a very inspiring song that is very suitable for their burning manly passion..

Three ending songs (ED) with “Underground” by High Voltage (Ep 1-15), “Happily Ever After” by Shoko Nakagawa (Ep 16), and “Minna no Peace” by Afromania (Ep 17-27)..

According to ANN, 2350 of 5345 votes were rated as Masterpiece, with a median rating of Excellent..

Although at some time you can roughly predict what’s happening next, I would rate it at 8.5/10 for its burning manly passion..

On 20th April 2012, Glenmorangie Malaysia has unveiled the SOUNDFORM Fluid bar at the North Atrium, Gardens Mall..

SOUNDFORM Fluid – a stunning, sculptural bar that brings to life the ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ philosophy advocated by Glenmorangie..

Officially unveiled at The Gardens in Mid Valley, the SOUNDFORM Fluid bar was designed by renowned architect and interior designer Philip Michael Wolfson for Glenmorangie, and it was inspired by the sonograph reading of the sound of Glenmorangie whisky being poured into a crystal glass..

The event was hosted by Joey G and the bar was well-presented in a few presentation videos shown on the TV screens around the area..

The showcase saw celebrities and single malt aficionados enjoy a night of appreciation as they savoured the ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’..

Thanks to Glenmorangie Ambassador Ben Ng, we had an informal whisky tasting session to unravel the complexity of the Glenmorangie range, from Glenmorangie Original, to La Santa, and lastly Astar..

The Original being the most low-end and Astar being the most high-end among these three, Astar is definitely the favourite amongst the crowd but it’s a tad too strong for me..

If I remembered correctly, Astar has a slight hint of honey smell, pretty fragrant, but still too strong for my palate..

Glenmorangie single malt whisky obtains its multi-layered aromas and kaleidoscopic flavours through maturation in fine oak casks, obtained from the Ozark Mountains..

While there are many perfectly good single malt whiskies matured in casks that are re-used up to eight times, Glenmorangie goes the extra mile for that added elegance in its whisky by only ever using their casks twice..

At its Tain distillery in the Scottish Highlands, Glenmorangie employs the tallest whisky stills in Scotland, ensuring only the purest vapours are used in the spirit.

After which, the crowd adjourned to Vertigo for the after-party featuring US DJ duo Manufactured Superstars, who supplied a steady flow of house, dance and electro pop into the night..

Whole night at Vertigo was orangie with all the lights from the panels, dance floor, and ceiling were flashing everywhere..Now that’s what I called Glenmorangie..

We had a good free flow of Genmorangie Original as well..It was quite a scene because I’ve not seen people boozed with single malt whisky before..It was a joyous night nonetheless..

Now some photos to keep you occupied on what’s happening on that night..

My photographer of the night, Jason Lee..It’s time to party hard after we have struggled for 2 weeks..

Pretty lady Adrienne Oh had quite a fun time with his boy too, I guess..

Glenmorangie is definitely ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ and is enjoyed by everyone..C’mon, who don’t love single malt whisky, right?

I have missed the BERSIH 2.0 because I was invited to a friend’s wedding in Penang on the very same day, 9th July 2011, the fateful day of 709..

This time around, on 28th April 2012, the BERSIH 3.0 rally is up again seeking for a fair and free election..And I know I cannot miss this 428 event..

It made me even more excited when I know my groups of friends who have kept silent all these while, have decided to join the rally as well..That’s when I know I’m not alone..

At about 12.15pm, we took LRT from Pandan Indah and got off at Plaza Rakyat station..The moment we stepped out of the train, the situation was very intensed as we saw much more people wearing the yellow and green shirt..

The crowd stretched from Masjid Jamek on Jalan Tun Perak all the way til Puduraya, that we haven’t not take into account the people at Central Market, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Parlimen, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, and Lynas people coming from KLCC, Jalan Ampang..

We started our journey on Jalan Pudu, walk passed Kotaraya and S & M then cut through the road to Leboh Pudu to Bangkok Bank..

It was a very rare occasion that the busy street at Jalan Pudu and Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock is all empty, only people walking on the road side..

We were on an empty Leboh Pudu walking to Central Market, one of the gathering points of BERSIH 3.0..

Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) was on standby to keep the situation in control..Unit Amal marshals (in maroon uniform) were there to assist the crowd before the leading man of that gathering point arrived..

It was around 12.45pm and my group proceeded to the Malaysian Bar Council (Majlis Peguam Malaysia) along Jalan Hang Kasturi..

Get ready with a very long post ahead..

The crowd in front of Malaysian Bar Council was warming up for the climax..They were chanting phrases like “Hidup Bersih!”, “Hidup Rakyat!”, and “Stop Lynas!”, among others..

The bridge connecting the other side of Jalan Raja has been blocked by the authorities with barbed/razor wires..

So we proceeded to Leboh Ampang via Medan Pasar..

Right on Medan Pasar we saw Karpal Singh resting in his car, greeted the crowd for a while, then it went off to the junction at Leboh Ampang connecting Jalan Tun Perak..

Right after we reached Leboh Ampang junction a group of policemen were on standby as if they were blocking the road coming from Medan Pasar..

I think Masjid Jamek was the main gathering point as people coming from Jalan Pudu, Jalan Raja Chulan and many other entrances..

The crowd stretched from Menara OCBC on Jalan Tun Perak all the way to Mydin, perhaps even til Puduraya..

It was around 1.15pm when we were right in front of Burger King..The crowd started to build up when we reached Masjid Jamek LRT Station..

A four-wheel drive car carrying a group of people, who I presumed should be part of the organizer team, led the crowd with chanting “Bersih-Hijau” phrases and singing songs with Bersih words, just to get the crowd into the mood..

The crowd was all under controlled, as shown in the photo above, all were smiling because in their mind, this is a peaceful gathering to seek for a fair and free election..Nothing more..

A police truck drove passby and with the help of Unit Amal marshals the crowd gave way, with some jeers and boos..

It was sunny and hot then it got a bit cloudy as if a downpour is coming its way..

When the ‘Azan’ was on loudspeaker for Zohor prayer, the organizer even told the crowd to sit down and remain silent to show respect to the Islam prayer..It was totally under control..

At about 2.20pm, the crowd was told to sit down by the organizer and gave some speeches..Their initial estimation of the turnout was to be about 120,000 people..

What I remembered was they said something along the line of “It is already a success for gathering this much people even though we couldn’t enter Dataran Merdeka”..

When you have this large of a crowd, it is difficult to control who come and go..Some people from the crowd were requesting to proceed to Dataran Merdeka because we have come this far, just few tens of meter shy from our location..

Along the road, there were volunteers picking up rubbish on the street to keep the street clean, as bersih as it is..Probably cleaner than before protesters were there..

As soon as the few leaders arrived Masjid Jamek, the crowd proceeded to march towards Dataran Merdeka..

In the video, can be seen on the car were Nurul Izzah, Lim Kit Siang, Datuk Ambiga, and Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim..That was about 2.40pm..

Then we reached at the traffic light junction of Jalan Tun Perak – Jala Raja cross junction..

I’ve marked our journey route on Google Maps, check it out HERE..

To be honest, this area is considered a frontline if you ask me..It’s not that I’m not afraid of getting arrested or put the tear gas and water cannon to test but the crowd was too packed that we weren’t able to get out of that zone anymore..

The crowd chanted “Buka! Buka! Buka!” with the leaders right in front of the barricade..

If you ask me, the organizers were never not trying to defy the court order BECAUSE they waved to the crowd and told us to bersurai (disperse) if I remembered correctly..

In my opinion, they are taking the safety of the rakyat into account, because there’s no need to defy the court order if it puts the rakyat into danger..

It was around 2.55pm, I saw a group of people, not sure whether some other leaders or the public, walking towards the barricade as if they wanted a negotiation with the PDRM..

Crowd was cheering as if the barricade is opened for public..I was still pretty confused with the situation, whether the barricade is still there or opened for us..

In just split second I saw few people running towards the Dataran Merdeka field..

At that moment I knew the people actually broke the barricade because few policemen were chasing a person or two who were already quite deep in the prohibited zone..

Some were breaking in from Jalan Parlimen and without warning, the water cannon is deployed with chemical-laced water being shot onto theose who were running into Dataran Merdeka..

It was then I realized it’s a bit too late..My friends and I tried to get to Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (TAR) to escape but some of them shouted “Jangan panik! Pergi depan!”..

At that moment I thought to myself that these fellas are too extreme..Although I’ve expected for the worst, of getting arrested, but to fight the authorities? No..

Yes I know, I’m not that heroic kind of person who would take on the FRU, tear gas and water cannon in the frontline..I tried to escape..

It was really too late when we saw the FRU carrying guns which I assumed to be the tear gas canister launchers..

It was about 3pm, the first wave of tear gas were fired into the crowd, with one got stuck on the LRT railway track..

The following video shows how chaotic it was with tens of thousands of people running away from the tear gas..

It was my very first taste of the tear gas..I had a painting gas mask on, it protected my nostril for a while but my eyes were affected..

Although I had the gas mask on, it didn’t help much because I had breathing difficulty after a while so I had to take it off, only to realize it’s a trap..

The gas went straight up to my nostrils and it affected my whole body..Stinging sensation on every part of my exposed body such as my hands and legs..

I was blinded for a while because it felt like my eyes were stung, too..I had to run into Jalan Melayu where most of the stalls were closed..

Washed my face with my mineral water, got whole lots of salt from good Samaritans who were distributing salts along the way, then apply them on my hands and legs..

It felt much better after that..The wonder of salt..

Almost everyone was helping each other especially the elder ones..Some had experienced BERSIH 1.0 and 2.0 so they tried to calm the crowd by telling us not to panic..

I sincerely salute and respect them for staying back and remained calm to help those in need despite the chaos..It’s not easy with all the stinging effect all over the body..

I was separated from my friends during the commotion so it’s all back to survival instinct..

The other end of Jalan Melayu is Masjid Jamek LRT Station, most of us tried to exit there but the people there waved at us telling us to back off, as if it’s not safe to go over there..

So we turned back..Those people on the Jalan TAR exit also waved at us to back off, as if it’s not safe to exit there as well..W were trapped in Jalan Melayu..

Then I saw Unit Amal marshals giving hand sign telling the crowd to escape not sure to the main road of Jalan TAR or the inner road of Masjid India..

When I was about to make my move, I saw policemen, about 10 of them, came running catching people..I wasn’t sure if they were catching the rowdy ones or catch whoever in sight..

So again, I was trapped in the stalls..Saw smokes the tear gas canisters on both ends made me think the authorities wanted to trap us in this road and catch all of us..There was no way to escape..

It was then I met Ruby and she was separated from her group..

It was about 3.25pm, some people gave instruction to move to the cliff of the Klang River..

That’s when I thought I would rather jump into the river than being caught by the police..The wall is about twice my height, maybe around 3-meters..

There were people below it helping those on top to escape by giving them a lift..That’s when I thought it wasn’t that bad after all..

Ruby and I went down the wall, helped some of the people to get down as well..

Down there we had a little talk with a guy, a stall operator on Jalan Melayu, not to do business, but to help the crowd in anyway he could..He was there for BERSIH 2.0 as well..

Now who said the rally would badly affect their businesses?

Then I thought we should make a move, by crossing the river..It’s a tough decision..

We had to climb up again to get to the railings as shown on the photo above to cross the river..

We managed to get across, but again we saw people running away from policemen..We were stuck again on the other side of the river..

An OKU (Orang Kurang Upaya – disabled person) was there alone, not sure if he was separated from his family or group..It was quite worrying and in split second he wandered off alone, not sure where he was heading to..

Ruby called his mom and later a bit the mom called back telling us she managed to contact his son and he’s safe..

At about 3.40pm, another round of tear gas is shot to the crowd on Jalan Melaka, where we were at..We hid in the Bank Mualamat ATM kiosk to avoid the tear gas..

*A tear gas canister, the size of a Milo can or slightly smaller*

At about 3.55pm, we walked off towards Jalan Gereja because we saw cars and buses passing by..So I guessed we should be safe, in the sense that the FRU won’t shoot tear gas towards vehicles..

Then Ruby and I took a rest at Jalan Hang Lekiu..A mamak shop is opened and lots of people buy drinks there..Very good business..

Who said you can’t do business when there’s a street rally or demonstration?

We rested til about 4.15pm, saw the crowd at Jalan Tun Perak shouting and running..So we thought it must be another wave of tear gas or water cannon was shot..

We left the place, heading towards Jalan Raja Chulan and rested at Menara Olympia for quite some time..

During that time, we heard numerous shoutings and sounds of tear gas canisters being fired..Not sure what happened at Jalan Tun Perak but it definitely wasn’t something good..

At about 5.15pm started walking along Jalan Raja Chulan then turned off at Hotel Istana to Jalan Bukit Bintang to go to Berjaya Times Square..

While we were walking I got lots of stares because I was wearing the BERSIH t-shirt and also a gas mask is hung on my neck..

Then we walked all the way to Hang Tuah LRT Station, thought of taking LRT back to Pandan Indah but the queues were very long..

That was around 6pm, Ruby and I were safe but we were not sure what’s the situation at Jalan Tun Perak..

This is the route I’ve marked on Google Maps to show how I escaped from the Klang River to Hang Tuah LRT Station, HERE..

More photos on my Facebook Album, HERE..

==============================================

Based on my experience, I would say I’m glad that I joined the BERSIH 3.0 rally not because it was trendy or to create chaos but I stand up as a Malaysian to seek for fair and free election..

I can see how united Malaysians are, people of different races all came hand-in-hand for one aim, for one reason..

People of different races, different age group, all helped each other when others were in need..That’s the true spirit of being a Malaysian, not by shouting “1Malaysia” lots of times and you will be one..

Now I can say that I’ve taken the tear gas and it’s not something to be proud of, really..At least I stood up in a suppose democratic nation, have you?

I’m not saying that you MUST head down to the BERSIH 3.0 rally and take on the tear gas and water cannon to show that you love the country..

The tear gas and water cannon were uncalled for and it’s best to avoid..

What I’m trying to say is I exercise my right of democracy and whatever comes is unpredictable..

You think it’s fun to get teargassed? You think it’s fun to run around being chased by authorities? It’s not fun at all, but at least I stood up for the future..

I totally understand why the FRU decided to shoot the tear gas and deploy the water cannon because you cannot take chances..

Instead of taking chances, as the authorities, they had to prevent things before it goes out of control but there was no warning given..Things were getting out of hand..

I also wondered if the tear gas and water cannons were used to shoo the crowd away, or to attack and corner them so that they have no where to run, just like me, being cornered on Jalan Melayu..

This IMHO, the authorities shouldn’t blame the BERSIH 3.0 organizers or Opposition parties as well because we don’t know what kind of people we have in the crowd..

Some said it wouldn’t happened if BERSIH 3.0 is to be held in the given alternative venues and some said this tragedy wouldn’t happened if the Government had allowed the use of Dataran Merdeka..

It depends which side of a coin you are siding with..

After I got home, read all the news and views, watched all the videos from both sides, authorities and public/journalists, there’s always a dark side of something..

You see protesters assaulting authorities and police vehicles, and you also see authorities acting like hooligans beating people up even when they are restraint from moving..

Yes, everyone has different views and you have your own opinion as well..

IMHO, this BERSIH 3.0 rally not only a move to seek for fair and free election but also a kind of awareness to the nation, to the world that we should do our bits in order to achieve a better future..

For those who are eligible but have not registered as a voter, you would think a vote doesn’t make much difference..It doesn’t matter which party you vote for, it DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Think if a thousand people think like you, how is that 1,000 votes not a difference?

If you think voting will not change things, then stop complaining about our economy, our politics, our public transportations, our laws, because you are accepting the way it is..

If you want to change things, you have to vote, no matter who you vote for..

If you think the Government is doing a good job, show them your support!

If you think the Opposition will do a better job, vote for them and support them!

If the Opposition is lucky enough to form the Federal Government, let’s see what they are capable of..

This is democracy, we can change it in the next general election if they are not up to the task..This is how things should be kept in balance..

You can voice out your opinion but anything on personal attack you should keep it to yourself..

This is my experience at BERSIH 3.0 and I can say I’m proud to be Malaysian, but I’m sad to be one seeing how the situation goes..

If you are a single malt whisky lover, you would definitely agree that Glenmorangie is arguably the most delicious and complex single malt whisky in the world.

Its multi-layered aromas and kaleidoscopic flavours stimulate the senses and entice the palate.

As purveyors of perfection in single malt whisky, Glenmorangie takes pride in going to great lengths to ensure the quality of Glenmorangie whisky; to ascertain that Glenmorangie whisky is “Unnecessarily Well Made”.

*The Glenmorangie Original – Backbone of the Glenmorangie Range*

How “Unnecessarily Well Made” is Glenmorangie?

Single malt whisky obtains its flavour from the wooden casks used in maturation. Many of Glenmorangie’s bespoke casks are made from white oaks grown on the Ozark Mountains in Missouri, USA.

They are grown slowly over 100 years and seasoned naturally in the open air for two years to preserve their porous texture – a quality that adds to the spirit’s intriguing depth.

*Glenmorangie casks are only ever used twice to ensure the optimal amount of flavour is extracted into the whisky*

While there are many perfectly good single malt whiskies made in shorter stills, the Glenmorangie Distillery utilizes swan-necked stills that are the tallest in Scotland!

*Stills in the Glenmorangie Distillery stand as tall as a fully grown giraffe*

Glenmorangie stills stand at a dizzying sixteen feet, ten and one quarter inches (5.14m) high.

This height means that only the lightest and purest vapours are able to ascend to the top and condense into spirit, contributing to Glenmorangie’s distinctive complexity and layered flavour.

This is definitely a plus point for the ever-growing whisky drinkers in Malaysia, especially single malt whisky. The Malaysian market of single malt whisky is expanding in recent years and Glenmorangie is definitely one of the top selections.

*The Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain, Scotland*

The superiority of the ingredients – local spring water from its own Tarlogie spring and locally grown Scottish barley, combined with the skill of the craftsmen who follow the same, time honoured approach that the company has used throughout its long history, result in a smooth spirit of distinction.

As an effort in the branding of Glenmorangie’s “Unnecessarily Well Made” here in Malaysia, be sure not to miss the opportunity to familiarize with all things ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ this April.

Come 11 April to 1 May 2012, Glenmorangie’s SOUNDFORM Fluid bar will be showcased in the North Atrium of The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley City.

Whether you are a single malt aficionado, a fan of contemporary design, or just plain curious, be sure to head to The Gardens to catch the SOUNDFORM Fluid, which is a striking yet sculpturally functional illustration of Glenmorangie’s ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ concept.

Check out the recent Orange Retro Funk by Glenmorangie Party at The Pool.

On a related note, I myself had a bottle Glenmorangie – Sherry Wood Finish which I bought in Langkawi couple of years ago.

*Handcrafted by the Sixteen Men of Tain*

The Sherry Wood Finish has a slight sweet taste and it’s quite smooth to the palate. It’s definitely one of the best single malt whisky in the world.

The English Premier League Season 2011/12 is coming to its last few matches and as usual, the matches always seemed like they were fixed in a way that 3rd-placed team have to go against 4th-placed team for the Champions’ League spot and the top two teams have to battle it out on the last match of the season to vie for the title, and so on..

On 21st April 2012, I have attended the Tiger Viewing Party – Arsenal vs Chelsea at Publika Dutamas for bringing down the Emirates Stadium from north London to Kuala Lumpur..

Makeshift walls were built as the one resembled the real Emirates Stadium, tunnels, and also tiered seats to make the game more enjoyable..

The Gunners Stadium, is half of the wall at the outdoor area of Publika in front of The Bee..Invited David and Jynn to join me..

The entrance tunnel into the ‘stadium’ where Tiger beer is served!

A replica cannon is placed in front of the ‘stadium’..

Took a photo together with ex-Liverpool great John Barnes..One of the best Liverpool and England players in the late 80′s and early 90′s alongside Ian Rush, before the emergence of the new generations of Liverpool players like Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman and Stan Collymore..

Honestly, this match wasn’t one of the best or most exciting games at all..Arsenal is trying to keep its 3rd spot and Chelsea is trying to catch up on 4th-placed Newcastle..

Lots of chances for both sides but attacking were kinda sloppy where the game ended in a goalless draw..

The venue and decoration were pretty interesting with the presence of 3 football legends, including John Barnes..

To sum it up, it was great to watch with so many supporters and of course, with few cup of cold Tiger beer..

Must of been mid afternoon
I could tell by how far the child’s shadow stretched out and
He walked with a purpose
In his sneakers, down the street
He had, many questions
Like children often do

He said,
“Tell me all your thoughts on God?”
“Tell me am I very far?”

Must of been late afternoon
On our way the sun broke free of the clouds
We count only blue cars
Skip the cracks, in the street
And ask many questions
Like children often do

We said,
“Tell me all your thoughts on God?
“‘Cause I would really like to meet her.
And ask her why we’re who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God,
Cause I am on my way to see her.
So tell me am I very far -
Am I very far now?”

It’s getting cold picked up the pace
How our shoes make hard noises in this place
Our clothes are stained
We pass many, cross eyed people
And ask many questions
Like children often do

“Tell me all your thoughts on God?
‘Cause I would really like to meet her.
And ask her why we’re who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God?

On Saturday, 14th April 2012, the Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach was packed with more than 40,000 party goers, many of whom had managed to secure exclusive invites from Tiger’s website, Facebook page, as well as nationwide promotion at Tiger outlets for the Tiger Asian Music Festival 2012..

Due to overwhelming demands, Tiger had also given out additional 1,000 exclusive passes on 12th April, and all were snapped up in less than 2 hours!

The heavy downpour in the evening didn’t deter the people to go all out to have fun at all! I would say it’s probably due to the venue, Sunway Lagoon, a surf beach and water themed park, wet or not here we go!

The festival kickstarted with a blast, starting with Paul Wong and Wong Ka Keung of Beyond fame to get build up the hype from the beginning..

It’s all the familiar songs from the Beyond-era such as ‘Amani’ and ‘Gwong Fai Sui Yuet’..The 80′s babies would definitely know and sing along with Paul Wong..

A-Lin came off after that to perform some slow numbers and yet to keep the crowd well-entertained..

The strong 40,000 crowd from the dried-up surf beach all the way to the lockers area at the back..

Homegrown hip-hop group ManHand to get the crowd back into the groovy mood as they were well received..

Jam Hsiao then came on stage to give the hyper 40,000 party-goers some top-notch vocal performances..

As a singer to be compared with top-class artist Jay Chou, Jam Hsiao definitely showed the crowd what he is capable of..

Chang Chen Yue (A-Yue), one of Taiwan’s biggest rock artists, had the crowd all hyped up and started singing along to ‘Ài de chi tiyàn’..

MC Hotdog did a colaboration with A-Yue and it was truthful to the concept of progressive and inspirational urban artists..

LMF came off last and as expected, the crowd were waiting for it..

As expected, they sang the Bruce Lee tribute song ’1127′ and also ‘Love Is’ in the absense of Sammi Cheng, whom they have collaborated the song with..

These are the more radio-friendly songs of LMF’s, missing out other tracks which carried much stronger message about the Hong Kong society and Government that aren’t so family-friendly..

All in all they have put up a great performance although I expected more..It’s still good, nonetheless..

The night ended with fireworks display and the crowd left with smiles on their face..

Surprisingly, the traffic flow was pretty smooth after the party ended which I’ve actually expected it to be chaotic..

More photos from Jason’s camera..

We were enjoying ourselves at the VIP B area..

With Kate and Hongkie girl Mann..

Two of my handful of best friends from university, Sharon and Jason..

This is just a quarter of the total crowd! It was totally massive!

Paul Wong, singing the old numbers from the Beyond era had the crowd singing along..

LMF taking the stage and proved to the crowd they have what it takes to rise up to fame from underground..

LMF had put up a very energetic performance and the crowd were the same, still jumping, mosh-pitting, and cheering for hours!

Fireworks went pew pew pew..

Now I definitely hope there will be the third installment of TAMF in 2013 and hope they’ll bring in a Japanese artist of some sort.

Glenmorangie, one of the most famous and well-respected Scotch whisky distillers and marketers of premium Scotch whisky brands worldwide, has introduced its own Orange Retro Funk event at The Pool, Jalan Ampang on 30th March 2012..

*Glenmorangie Orange Retro Funk*

Some of the main agendas of the night was to introduce the Glenmorangie Zest Serve and to unveil Glenmorangie’s new Facebook Page, http://fb.com/GlenmorangieMalaysia..

*Glenmorangie Zest Serve sculptural stand*

This is the Glenmorangie Zest Serve, whisky was added into the sculptural serving stand that contained slices of orange peel skins to create an infusion of orange zest with Glenmorangie whisky.

There’s a slight hint of orange zest which adds to the original flavor of the whisky, where Glenmorangie is renowned as the master of maturation and is the original pioneer of ‘wood finishes’, developing and introducing the Port Wood Finish in 1995, followed by Wood Finish Range in 1996..

*Yours truly with one of the models in body paint*

The female models “dressed” in retro-inspired body paint added to the festive atmosphere as guests had a lively time getting their photos snapped with them!

*From L>R – Timothy Tiah, Audrey Ooi, Lu Xanne, and Kuah Jenhan*

Stand-up comedian Kuah Jenhan eventually went on to win the Best Dressed Award with his orange ensemble and won himself a bottle of Glenmorangie Original..

*Some of the ladies having a good time with glasses of zest Glenmorangie*

With a steady flow of house and indie dance, the Glenmorangie ‘Orange Night’ was a tasteful mix of the refined, hedonistic enjoyment of single malt whisky balanced with a healthy serving of witty retro funk..

Undeniably the most complex and perfectly balanced single malt, every sip of Glenmorangie offers a
heady and alluring experience in taste, texture and aroma..

For those giving the Glenmorangie Orange Night a miss, look out for another not to be missed opportunity to familiarize with all things ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’..

Come 11th April to 1st May 2012, Glenmorangie’s SOUNDFORM Fluid bar will be showcased in the North Atrium of The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley City..

Whether you are a single malt aficionado, a fan of contemporary design, or just plain curious, be sure to head to The Gardens to catch the SOUNDFORM Fluid, which is a striking yet sculpturally functional illustration of Glenmorangie’s ‘Unnecessarily Well Made’ concept..

Asian music fans, get ready to soak in the ultimate urban street themed music celebration, as the Tiger Asian Music Festival (Tiger AMF) 2012 is set to bring the house down on this coming 14th of April 2012 at Sunway Surf Beach..

The Tiger AMF is back for the second year where the 2011 festival was a blast, with almost 20-artistes from Malaysia, Korea, China, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and Taiwan, performing for 12-hours at the MIECC..Check out my Tiger Asian Music Festival 2011 post HERE..

In 2012, although the artistes line-up are not as many as 2011, they are not your average artistes and are more focused with the street-themed music festival..

Straight from the street to the beach, urban music lovers can expect a night filled with electrifying and high-octane collaborative performances by some of Asia’s most talented artists, while immersing themselves in the unique street-themed festivities brought alive by Tiger..

This year we have..

*A-Lin*

A-Lin has achieved rapid commercial success across the Mandarin-speaking world since her debut in 2006..Her natural talent has led some to call her the next A-Mei..

Like A-Lin, A-Mei is a Taiwanese aborigine of Amis descent, and arguably the most popular singer from Taiwan..A-Lin herself has admitted that A-Mei has greatly influenced her and frequently covers A-Mei’s songs when she performs..

*Chang Chen-Yue*

Rock singer Chang Chen-Yue first became popular thanks to his 1998 hit song ‘Ai Wo Bie Zou’..But he’s not just a singer: this multi-talented Taiwanese entertainer is also a songwriter, guitarist, dance DJ and actor..

The Tiger Asian Music Festival will reunite him with rapper MC Hotdog, with whom he has previously collaborated on two hip-hop singles..

*Jam Hsiao*

Jam joined the One Million Star talent contest in 2007, but the show’s producers, recognising his enormous talent, instead asked him to appear as a fearsome challenger who eliminates contestants in head-to-head sing-offs (PK Challenges)..

Jam’s showmanship helped the show’s ratings skyrocket, and won him legions of fans, including Taiwan’s Queen of Pop A-Mei who invited him to perform a duet with her on a song in her 2007 album..

*Manhand*

Manhand’s members (MC Bee, Von, Daeren, MC Toy and DJ Point) all have their own distinct characters. This has had a significant influence on their self-produced debut album, ManHanD, giving its music a uniqueness that stands out from other hip-hop/rap albums..

Their one-of-a-kind sound and artistry has been recognised at the 2008 PWH Music Awards, where they won Best Group, Best Song and Best Album Design accolades..

Since then, they have continued to shine, clinching the Best Chinese Singers of Malaysia Award at the GCMA Music Awards and having a string of hits on both local and international music charts..

*MC Hotdog*

This Taiwanese rapper has drawn controversy because of his frequent use of explicit lyrics. But his fans appreciate his music, which they feel presents a gritty, realistic picture of life. He has produced numerous hits, won several awards and sold hundreds of thousands of CDs..

His 2006 album Wake Up was both critically acclaimed and a commercial success, appealing to a wide range of audiences.

*Paul Wong*

Formed in 1983, legendary rock band Beyond is the most successful and influential group to ever come out of Hong Kong, with both Chinese and non-Chinese fans across Asia..

Though Beyond disbanded in 2005, its members continued to be consummate entertainers, playing the roles of composers, songwriters, musicians and actors – performing as solo artistes or forming their own bands..

At Tiger Asian Music Festival 2012, two of these music industry greats – Wong Ka-Keung and Paul Wong – will be dazzling the audience with their showmanship and prodigious musical talent..Don’t miss this rare opportunity to catch them live once again!

*LMF – Lazy Mutha F#cka*

The members of rap group LMF all grew up in poverty, and this is reflected in their music: an angry, edgy, vehement tirade about economic oppression and social alienation faced by Hong Kong’s lower class..

While their use of expletives has drawn criticism, there is no denying their talent, originality, popularity and most importantly, their role in bringing the pressing issues faced by the poor people of Hong Kong to the forefront of social consciousness.

Straight from the street to the beach, urban music lovers can expect a night filled with electrifying and high-octane collaborative performances by some of Asia’s most talented artists, while immersing themselves in the unique street themed festivities brought alive by Tiger..

The Tiger AMF 2012 is strictly for music fans who are above 18 years of age..The event partners include MY FM, Mint, Cathay Pacific, Sunway Lagoon, LANSI, and Durex..

Do not miss out the opportunities to win exclusive invites to the most happening Asian musical event of the year!
See you guys there!
