Youtube filmmaker sensation the Wong Fu Productions is coming to KL, Malaysia!

The guys at Wong Fu Productions consist of Wesley Chan, Ted Fu, and Philip Wang are making their way to Taylor’s University, Lakeside Campus nearby Sunway on 4th of February 2012..

The news of them coming down got ‘leaked out’ by Jin from hitz.fm, the DJ who hosts the Hitz Party show..

Wong Fu, as it is known among Netizens, are famous for their Youtube short clips productions that are widely shared and liked on social media..Their Youtube Channel has more than 1-million subscribers and over 139-million video views on their 261 video (as of the time this post is being pbulished)..

They have also directed a MTV for Taiwanese artiste Wang Lee Hom’s song, “Still In Love With You”..

Although the tour poster is somewhat made public but there is no updates yet on the partners’ websites, except for ME Malaysia Facebook Page, mentioning that Wong Fu Productions are coming soon in 2012 (as of the time this post is being published)..

Admission fees for WONG FU 4 LYFE at Taylor’s University, Lakeside Campus is RM95 and RM150, for general admission and limited VIP seats respectively..

The Wallflowers, a rock band from Los Angeles, led by Jakob Dylan, son of Bob Dylan, one of the influential bands in the rock music industry in the 90′s..

The original members of the Wallflowers started off in 1989 included Jakob Dylan (vocals and guitar), Barrie Maguire (bass guitar and vocals), Peter Yanowitz (drums and percussion), Rami Jaffee (keyboards and vocals), and Tobi Miller (guitar)..

They have won 2 Grammy Awards for the single “One Headlight” in 1998 for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for “One Headlight”, and Jakob Dylan was awarded Best Rock Song..

This song “Beautiful Side of Somewhere” is taken from their 2005 album Rebel, Sweetheart..

IMHO, I think this song is about one has to leave the other due to unforeseen circumstances, such as illness that causes death..Do correct me if I’m wrong because this is just my opinion..

The other day I tried the homemade creampuffs by Kee’s Creampuffs, a small neighborhood venture, delighting people with delectable cream puffs in the form of surprise packages or catering for a special occasion..

Kee’s Creampuffs is now venturing into online world where you can order via email or the conventional phone call..

A minimum purchase of 25 creampuffs would cost you RM0.80 each (RM20), 100 creampuffs for RM0.70 each (RM70), and 300 creampuffs for RM0.60 each (RM180)..

This is the standard box package for the 25 creampuffs..Additional charges apply if you want to customize the packaging, which is upon request only..

It’s cash on delivery (C.O.D) and a deposit of RM50.00 is required for orders above 300 creampuffs..

A delivery charge of RM7.00 applies within Petaling Jaya area and delivery to KL areas are currently not available as of the date of this post..

The creampuffs are very soft and ‘juicy’ with the cream all melt in your mouth, not in your hand!

Tiger Crystal, a limited edition brew is making a comeback during this festive season, for a limited time..

Two weeks ago, I was fortunate to be invited for a food tasting session at Laundry Bar at The Curve, thanks to G2 and of course Tiger..

It’s a food-pairing meal where Laundry Bar recommended few sets in their menu to complement the Tiger Crystal..

Laundry kickstarted with 3 appetizers..First off, we were served with Spicy Clams Diavolo, sauteed in spicy clams broth..

*Spicy Clams Diavolo*

The Spicy Clams Diavolo (RM23.90++) was a good start, tasted kinda spicy, thanks to the dried chili and chili flakes, and slight bit of sourness from the lemon slice..

*Mini Pizza Pepperoni*

Then came the Mini Pizza Pepperoni (RM32++), made with tomato sauce and spices..It was meant to be slightly spicy but I guessed the spiciness of the clams overwhelmed the pizza’s spiciness..

The thin crust made the chewing sensation of beef, cheese, and tomato sauce pretty awesome..I had at least half of it, and it’s just appetizer!

By now you could have guessed the appetizers were all spicy stuff and for that, the Tiger Crystal cools down the palate pretty well..The less bitterness of Tiger Crystal compared to the normal Tiger made it easier to drink..

Third dish on the table, Chicken Sausage (RM25++), a bowl of seasoned chicken sausage in pan fried served with spicy chili, and lots of chili flakes..

The sausages were well done..The spiciness of the chili and crunchy tenderness of the sausage were actually quite tempting and appetizing..

Then came the main course..

*Roasted Chicken*

This Roasted Chicken (RM39.90++) is cooked with herb with chef special recipe..The chicken meat was tender and the wedges were soft..It’s another spicy dish alright..Look at the dried chilis..

*Lamb Chop*

The Lamb Chop (RM42.00++) is marinated with basil and served with mash potatoes..The meat was tender and succulent which is irresistable, all of us had to use our hand..

The Seafood Cippino (RM39.90++) was mussel calamari clams and shrimps sauteed and tossed with spicy marinara..

The Raisin Bread Pudding (RM12.00++) was kinda refreshing after savoring on few spicy dishes..The bread pudding is sweet with few dice of strawberry..

All in all, it was a great meal with great company..Generally, food were all great and I especially liked the sausage and mini pizza pepperoni..I will go back for more!

Owh, we had a complimentary onion ring as well..It’s a good snack as well and I love it, too..Nice to have with a beer in hand watching a football match

Foster the People is an fast-rising American indie band formed in 2009..I’ve always thought they were from the UK..

Foster the People‘s members Mark Foster (vocals, keyboards, piano, synthesizers, guitar, programming, percussion), Mark Pontius (drums and extra percussion), and Cubbie Fink (bass and backing vocals) formed the band while in their mid-twenties, in Los Angeles..

I would say the type of music they played are pretty much ‘unique’ in the American market but considered normal in the UK market..

On the first attempt on their first single, ‘Pumped Up Kicks’, one might say they sound like MGMT + early-Blur-era + Peter, Bjorn, John + Goldfrapp-male version, and the likes of Blur in their early years..

Their first studio album, ‘Torches’ is released in May 2011..

All songs are written by Mark Foster except for ‘Call It What You Want’, ‘Life On The Nickel’ (Mark Foster and Paul Epworth), and ‘Miss You’ (Mark Foster and Zach Heiligman)..

I would say if you are a Barsonic-goer, it’s pretty safe to say you would enjoy their album..

Winning Nyonya thriller performed in Chinese, “Lizard” is a 90-minute theatre performance that examines the relationship between family members, the manipulation of feelings and trust, and men’s obsession to control..

The story revolves around a conventional Chinese family with a paralysed mother who can only communicate through her eyes;

The father who had faithfully remained at the side of his wife;
The eldest son who owns a café at the age of 24;
A conservative and bashful elder daughter who writes for a living;
And the youngest daughter who is abrasive and unafraid to challenge the authority.

Despite the differences in characters, the parents and siblings have been living in harmony and every members of the family understands and respect the rule of coming home for dinner together regardless of work or social activities.

Unknowing to them, a dark secret is lurking amongst the family, as it was perfectly disguised and as cold-blooded as a lizard. Disorder will soon hit the family, while the secret will be unravelled by a surprise visit of the aunt who had stayed overseas for the last 20 years.

E House, the team behind the production of “Lizard” is the same folks who brought us “Casa”, their first production which had won three awards during the ADA Drama Award 2010, namely Best Supporting Actor, Best Stage Design and Best Graphic Design. E House producer and founder, Emiko Ten founded the team at the young age of 24 in 2010, and had since made her name as one of the
youngest and most successful stage producer.

Milo Low, the director of “Lizard” and playing the role of the father was the winner of ADA Drama Award Best Supporting Actor for 2010 and 2011. On top of that, he is also a theatre educator with 12 years of experience, and is a trained performer in body rhythm, directing, acting, and script-writing..

Art direction is by Suzuki Cheng, who is a Macanese and formally joined E House as a partner after her first collaboration with the team in “Casa”.
