H1N1 Is Not Quite A Scare Anymore, Thinks MOH

If you’ve been following my Twitter and Plurk few days ago, I said that I’m down with sickness, running nose and sore throat, that’s on Sunday..

I’ve mild running nose since early last week and I didn’t even give a damn about it..

Not that I’m not afraid of A(H1N1) or whatsoever, but I believed in my body immune system, so there’s nothing to be afraid of..

But little did I know, I’ve been going to bed very late recently and that definitely hit me right in the face..

Not to mention I’ve been going to events and all, such as Juice Anniversary and Heineken Green Room..

Well anyway, when I got up on Monday morning, the sore throat is getting me a bit..Still, I didn’t give a damn about it, until after lunch..

Many friends on Twitter and Plurk asked me to go see the doctor or maybe a check up..

Monday morning, running nose and sore throat..After lunch, joint and muscle pain, slight dizziness, where I can feel my head is pumping faster than usual..

Near to dinner, I felt my body a bit heaty, a bit like feverish..So I took 2 pills of Panadol after dinner..

Midnight, nothing much happened..I even had supper of hotdog bun and a chicken pie..

Tuesday morning, heaty body and more running nose..So I decided to go see Dr. L somewhere in Cheras, a so-called family doctor ever since I was a baby..

So here’s something I want to share with you guys if you didn’t know..And congrats to those already know..

P/S - By the way, if not because of my finals is around the corner, I wouldn’t trouble myself to go to the clinic..

He asked me, “What happen?”..

I said, “I suspect myself for having H1N1″..

Dr. L continued, “Even if you suspect that but nothing i can do coz we are not running any test anymore”..

He says that, even if we go straight to Sungai Buloh, the main centre for H1N1 patients, they will not run a test for us too..

If you suspect yourself for contracted with H1N1, they will ask you STUPID questions..

They will ask, “Have you got in touch with people that is infected with H1N1?”..

Say if I were there, I will say, “I don’t know..I’ve been going out to events and uni in the past 1-week..So I’ve made contact with at least 3,000-5,000 people..How would I know if any of them is infected with H1N1?”..

The hospital authorities (Sg Buloh or maybe General Hospital) will say this to you, “Okay now you have to call each and everyone you’ve made contact with and double confirm whether they are infected with H1N1″..

How stupid this statement is..Make phone calls to the 3,000-5,000 people that I’ve made contact with..They got their doctorate with a brain in the ass or what?

Here’s one complaint letter from a The Star reader saying he was rejected to do the test if he’s infected with H1N1..

Okay, if I were to call all of my friends whom I’ve made contact with, definitely they didn’t have H1N1, or at least I think so, because they were out and all..

Say I’ve made contact with 200 of my friends..What about the remaining 2,800-4,800 people that I don’t know?

If there’s no definite confirmation that I’ve contacted people infected with H1N1, the hospitals will not admit nor run a test on self-suspect patients..

In this case, me..Unless, you are a high-risk groups such as children, pregnant women, elders, or something like that..

So Dr. L told me that he has to treat my illness as normal flu, as the symptoms for both normal flu and H1N1 is very very similar, except for vomiting and sudden change of body condition, such as appetite or something damn serious..

Well, I understand that the doctors cannot treat each and every flu patients as a suspect of H1N1 because if they do so, it will be very chaotic and all..

I even understand that for sure there will be shortage of work force in the hospitals if everyone were to suspect themselves for having H1N1..

I even mentioned earlier that I have confidence in my body immune system, where if you see the past death cases, it’s either involving young child, elders, or maybe people who is lacked of nutrient and all..

But now, they are not even running a test to check whether you are infected or not..

I would say to hell with all the newspaper headlines higlighting the current death toll in Malaysia has increased to 8 cases..

Coz being a Malaysian, it’s very normal that we get used to the Government’s order of, “It’s not serious yet..Wait til death toll up to 50 first” mentality..

Same goes to collapse of buildings, road accidents, and many other hot issues..

If you have flu, fever, sore throat, and muscle pain, just take panadols is sufficient enough, IMHO..

So, recover, or go die~!! ARGH~!!

Bon Odori 2009 @ Panasonic Matsushita Stadium, Shah Alam

Last Saturday, 18th July 2009 was the day where the annual Bon Odori festival was held at Matsushita Corp Stadium in Shah Alam..

Other than the one in Selangor, another similar event is being held in Penang as well..

Bon Odori, is an event held during Obon, which is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the departed spirits of one’s ancestors..

So yeah, it’s quite a traditional festival and I don’t think it should be modernized, unless the Japanese Buddhist are doing so..

My first visit to Bon Odori was 7 years ago, when I was in Lower Six Form..

I vaguely remembered what has happened or know about what Bon Odori is..

Chee Ching and Wendy planned one like 2-weeks before the event so I thought it might be fun to go there again after 7 years..

*At 6pm when we reach the place*

The stadium was still quite “empty”, although there were already lots of people at the entrance gate and the stadium seats were practically ALL occupied..

It’s already an hour after the event has started at 5pm and we could still find ample of parking lots inside the stadium car park..

*Japanese culture, food and drinks*

Plenty of stalls and booths were set up to sell Japanese goodies such as sushi, Japanese beer a.k.a Asahi, green tea, Japanese ice-creams, fried ramen, etc etc..

But, on a side note, they were selling products from other country as well, like Budweiser, Foster’s, and few others..

*People with yukata, an informal kimono*

It’s the day where you’ll see people from all walks of like walking around in yukata under the hot dry sun..

Yukata, an informal type of kimono where kimono are made of silk, yukata are made of cotton..

The guy with the Suntory Green Tea is Joyce..Yeah, a guy..

*Chee Ching (2nd right) and her friends, Wendy (FR), and I*

So here’s a group pic of us..At last there’s a decent face in my own camera, where someone complained I always have other people’s faces in my photos but not my own..

*The field before Bon Odori starts*

This photo is taken at about 7pm, an hour after I’ve taken the first pic I’ve posted above..The difference was humongous..

From an empty close to half-filled field became an almost 90% filled field..

Move on for more photos on the performances and something really really irks me as a Malaysian and I felt sorry for the Japanese..

Say NO To H1N1 Scare

The pandemic influenza A(H1N1) scare is on the rise and never been better..

Death tolls around the world such as The States and some other places are on the rise..Sorry, I didn’t really update myself on the outbreak..

I just know that it kills, it’s another flu outbreak with the name of swine flu and also codenamed A(H1N1), the danger is now labeled Level 6 or something by World Health Organisation (WHO), and umm, etc etc..

The outbreak also has reached our shore and yes, the first case ever heard in KL was in Sungai Buloh or something, and I was at The Curve within that week..

As time past by, rumors spread and all, the flu eventually reached my uni, UCSI..Yeah you read that right..

Heard that a student and lecturer from the main campus, Taman Connaught were infected or suspected with symptoms of H1N1..

The moment some of the close friends of the suspected victim heard about it, some of us from the branch campus already took pre-cautions..

On the other hand, there’s no notice nor alert from the uni to warn us about the suspected case..

Think twice, it’s a bad idea to alert the students as it might cause unnecessary scares among themselves, causing classes to be halted for no reason..

Of course, on the positive note, those who were suspected to have infected with the flu have been quarantined..So it’s definitely fine and all..

Then 1 week after the suspected case in the main campus, it has reached our North Wing campus, said to be 3 of them..

Of course, they were quarantined already, long gone..

Funnily, after the news has spread to our campus, none of the people wear mask already..LOL~!!

IMHO, the suspected ones already being quarantined, there’s nothing to be scared of, until the next victim comes..

I know it kills, but from what you can see in the news, those who got killed are either toddlers or elderly people..

If you are an active and healthy youngster, teenager or young adult, there’s nothing to be scared of because good and strong immune system in your body can actually fight it off..

On top of that, those who were suspected of H1N1 infection have already been quarantined..

If you are really afraid of it, then you should be very afraid of your health, as in do more exercise and live a healthy lifestyle..

So umm, say NO to H1N1 scare, only if you think your body immune system is good enough..

I think mine fares pretty well despite my constant nocturnal life..What about you?

4 Out Of 5 Fingers On 1 Hand Bleed

Okay, last night I was washing the dishes after dinner, as usual..I do wash the dishes okay..

Although buaya hit on girls and all but buaya is also a homely-guy..Hence the attractiveness wtf..

Then, I was washing the one bowl, the very last one before I rinse off everything..

Suddenly, I lost my grip and the bowl slipped off my hand, fell on the side of the sink, then the sound “pring prang ke-ba-boom dish dush ush kuch kuch hota hai~!!!” can be heard..

*The broken bowl in the bin wtf*

The next thing I knew, 4 of the 5 fingers on my left hand were bleeding already, and I barely touched the broken pieces..

*Plasters on all except the second one*

Then rinsed the blood off my fingers, wiped it clean, put on plasters..Now my fingers are mummy-fied..

Today when I got up in the morning, removed the plasters, and this is what you get..

*5 cuts on 4 fingers*

The cuts are quite deep, considering I didn’t touch the pieces at all..Don’t know how I got those wounds at all, especially the one on the ring finger and the tiny weeny finger..

So I washed my long hair with difficulty level-50 coz it still hurts..

After shower, I put on plasters again..

So I had it on 3 fingers..Never mind bout the thumb one..I can still bare with it without any plaster on..

Hopefully it will recover soon before my finals, which is on this coming Thursday, 9th April :(

On a side note, it’s quite cool to have plasters on the fingers with REAL wounds, instead of those people putting it just for the sake of being cool..

Thanks for the concern in my facebook status wtf..

Adidas Turns 60 @ Zouk KL

Last Friday on 27th February 2009, Adidas marked their 60-years of existence in Malaysia and they celebrated it in style..

And the venue they chose to do it was no other than my current favourite clubs of all, Zouk KL..

By the way, it was my third consecutive weeks at Zouk KL..I know, it may sound damn happening to you, but it might not :)

*Zouk main entrance with 60/09 decors*

The event started around 8pm, with few guest artistes performed for the opening..

As expected from the three-stripes label, B-boys and hip-hoppers were seen performing donning their apparels..

*B-boys and artistes performing*

After the hyper performances, the event kickstarted by the hosts, Henry and Daphne..Such a lovely pair..

*Henry and Daphne*

*That’s Fuzz (not DJ Fuzz) on the stage and DJ Goldfish*

Well as anticipated as he is, Fuzz always IN for games and all..Okay, Fuzz got his name wayyyy before DJ Fuzz won the Heineken Pioneer DJ thingy..

So don’t get confused..DJ Fuzz is DJ..Fuzz is the so-called President-cum-organizer of Coolerclub wtf..LOL..

Keep on scrolling for models walking on the runway parading Adidas apparels..

Political Turmoil – Perak State, Elizabeth Wong, Toll Price, Parliament

After much hiatus on political views, here I’m back with lots of new happenings in Malaysian politics..

The Barisan Nasional somehow “snatched” the Perak state and formed the State Government based on majority of MPs on both BN and Pakatan Rakyat’s side..

You can read the full chronology here on How the Perak State Government fell, taken from The Star Online..

BN claimed that Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has lost its majority because both BN and PR has 28 seats, while logically, PR only has 27 seats because the state assembly Speaker V. Sivakumar cannot cast a vote in the assembly..

Ok, it make sense, but, for the Speaker to ban the new MB, Datuk Dr Zambry Abd Kadir and his excos from the state assembly, by right BN has lost its majority as well..

Now, to dissolve the State Government and do a by-election for the whole Perak State would be the best move..

Well, IMHO, instead of trying to “snatch” the Perak State in such a manner, just go for a by-election and see what the rakyat wants..That’s the most fair and square method..

While PR claimed it’s unconstitutional for BN to form the State government and BN claimed that the Perak people is behind them, why not let the people themselves make the decision, once again..

I do believed the choice is in Perak people’s hands, instead of BN or PR scuffling for their own rights or whatsoever..

And IMHO if there is a state by-election, I reckon that PR would win with bigger margin compared to March 8th..

On Bukit Lanjan assemblyman Elizabeth Wong’s nude photos being circulated in the internet and news media, it’s such a bad thing to happen ever since Dr Chua Soi Lek’s sex video being circulated..

This time, it’s none other than Elizabeth Wong’s privacy being invaded in her house and it’s not any wrong-doing sex video or photos..

Where’s the law and order nowadays? MPs’ privacy or sex life is being made public and there’s nothing could be done on it..

And worst of all, the one people in BN that a lot of people hated, Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo has called for the resignation of Elizabeth Wong..

Other than that, there’s also Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said Wong’s decision to resign was appropriate considering her standing in politics..

Then albeit all of the accusations on our soon-to-be Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shariibuu, why he didn’t resign from his post?

He didn’t resign because he claimed that he’s not involved in the killing so he’s claiming that he’s innocent, although he’s in the limelight for more than 2 years..

So why Elizabeth Wong has to resign from her posts? She did nothing wrong and the culprit should be captured and heavy punishment should be taken against the culprit..

Even if she’s single or her nude photos being circulated, so what?? It’s her private life and she’s got her own privacy even though she’s an assemblyman..

For all those who acted like their never committed sin or have never involved in pre-marital sex before, you are just talking bullshit..The culprit should be captured instead of nailing Elizabeth Wong..

People have been gathering signatures to support Elizabeth Wong in this bad time and it’s the best support to let her know that she’s needed in the party and State Government..

*People gathering signature in support of Elizabeth Wong*

I wonder what would happened if a male MP’s nude photo of him in the shower is being leaked out..Resigning for such photos? Bad move I would say..

On the recent toll hike on 5 highways, namely North-South Expressway (PLUS), Sprint/Kerinchi/Damansara Link highways, Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Expressway (AKLEH), Sungai Besi Highway and the New Pantai Expressway (NPE)..

According to Works Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohammed said the increase was minimal and hoped the public understood that the increase was stipulated in the concession agreements that the government had signed..

He also said that, “The increase was actually due in January last year but we had postponed it until now. This means the government has been paying compensation for 14 months.”..

Since it’s already stated in the concession agreements, then could you please please please tell us how much more the Government have to pay those crony companies and WHEN you guys going to increase the price again..

It’s all in the agreement, just let us know it all..Transparency is all we need..WHEN and HOW MUCH is the question for the next toll hike..Isn’t it fair for us to be ready for the next hike??

I can already expect the usual answer from the Government..They will say it’s private and confidential or they will show us but have to wait for approval..

Then the waiting is long enough for people to forget bout the thing and they also never bother to show us anymore..I “love” the Government..

Now that lots of parties objected and and complained that the hike would burden the rakyat during this hardship of economic downturn, they have showed “sympathy” by holding the hike indefinitely..

I thought it’s already stated in the agreement that you have to increase the price? Can agreement be breached just like that? I “love” my Government once again..

Lastly, in Parliament over the scuffle between UMNO Youth members and some MPs of the Opposition party..

Although it wasn’t a nice sight for DAP chairman Karpal Singh to accuse UMNO Youth for sending live bullet to him without any concrete proof, the motive is there, following UMNO Youth members paraded in front of his office for several days..

Even if the UMNO Youth didn’t really do it, they should sove it in a manly way instead of scuffling in front of the Parliament harrassing a wheelchair-bound person..

And yes, the UMNO Youth claimed they didn’t even touch Karpal Singh..

Worst of all, the most disgusting scene, not UMNO Youth trying to harrass Karpal Singh, nor Karpal Singh hurled the word “celaka” at UMNO Youth members, but it’s the securities of Parliament..

During the commotion, Batu Gajah MP Fong Po Kuan shouted, “Where is security? Where is security?” and a reply was heard, “We only jaga (look after) inside (Parliament), not outside.”..

What an ethical security we have..They ONLY take care of things/areas under they control, and NOT things in front of them..

I wonder what they would do if a MP is gunned down outside Parliament..Guess they will just live them lying around doing nothing..

How can security of Parliament, letting the country’s MPs being harrassed right in front of the Parliament???

I guess that’s why they are security..If they were smarter they wouldn’t be a security in the first place..Bravo bravo *applause*..

I reckon that if all these stupid unnecessary issues is ever to happen again the current Government might lost its 2/3 majority or even the Government to the Opposition party..
