Evangelion 2.0 : You Can (Not) Advance0

Watched Evangelion 2.0 : You Can (Not) Advance courtesy of e@Curve (formerly Cineleisure Damansara)..Got the tickets from Robb the hamsap handsome guy wtf >.<

Evangelion 2.0 is the second part of a tetralogy movies of Evangelion..

It is said that the first 3 parts are almost similar to the original series with the final instalment to be an original production..

But in this Evangelion 2.0 : You Can (Not) Advance, almost half of the movie is already talking a different approach in its story-telling..

A new character of Maki Illustrious Makinami, a new EVA pilot is introduced..Some of the plots have been changed and yet it’s as thrilling as ever!

If you have watched the original series of Neon Genesis Evangelion, you would already the pace and style of this animation, slow and mind-boggling..

So if you are not really an anime fan but wanted to try something new, this MIGHT not be the right thing for you..Do choose your movie again..

Although I have forgotten most parts of the original series, I enjoyed the movie very much..

If you are watching this movie, DO NOT LEAVE WHEN THE CREDITS IS COMING OUT..

There’s a sneak peek of what to expect in Evangelion 3.0, after the credits..

In conjunction with Evangelion 2.0, here’s a very nice song called Komm Susser Todd, sung by Hideaki Anno, the producer and director of Evangelion series..

The song Komm Susser Todd is actually an insert song for the original series..

It’s actually a sad song but the tune and rhythm is so joyous and happy-go-lucky kinda mood..It’s plain genius!

Komm Susser Todd - Hideaki Anno

I know, I know I’ve let you down
I’ve been a fool to myself
I thought that I could
live for no one else
But now through all the hurt and pain
It’s time for me to respect
the ones you love
mean more than anything
So with sadness in my heart
I feel the best thing I could do
is end it all
and leave forever
What’s done is done, it feels so bad
what once was happy now is sad
I’ll never love again
my world is ending

I wish that I could turn back time
cos now the guilt is all mine
can’t live without the trust from those you love.
I know we can’t forget the past
you can’t forget love and pride
because of that its killing me inside

It all returns to nothing, it all comes
tumbling down, tumbling down,
tumbling down
It all returns to nothing, I just keep
letting me down, letting me down,
letting me down
In my heart of hearts,
I know that I could never love again
I’ve lost everything, everything
everything that matters to me,
matters in this world

I wish that I could turn back time
cos now all the guilt is mine
can’t live without
the trust from those you love
I know we can’t forget the past
you can’t forget love and pride
because of that, it’s killing me inside

It all returns to nothing, it all comes
tumbling down, tumbling down,
tumbling down
it all returns to nothing, I just keep
letting me down, letting me down,
letting me down
It all returns to nothing, it all comes
tumbling down, tumbling down,
tumbling down
it all returns to nothing, I just keep
letting me down, letting me down,
letting me down…

Oasis - Falling Down3

Oasis, a household name among Brit rock bands if you have been following the genre since early 90’s..

The current band members now consists of Liam Gallagher (lead vocals, tambourine), Noel Gallagher (guitars, vocals, keyboards, bass), Colin Archer (guitars, keyboard, harmonica, bass), Andy Bell (bass, keyboards, guitars), and Chris Sharnock (drums)..

I first heard of Oasis from their single ‘Roll With It’ from their second album ‘What’s The Story? (Morning Glory)’..

Later on more hits such as ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘Stop Crying Your Heart’, etc etc cemented their status as one of British most well-known rock bands, IMHO..

‘Falling Down’, is the final single by Oasis, taken from their 2008 seventh studio album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’..

This is also the fifth song that Noel sung, instead of the usual lead vocals by Liam..

‘Falling Down’ is used as the opening song for the much-hyped anime, ‘Eden of The East’..

‘Eden of The East’ (Higashi no Eden) is one of the few animes that is not adapted from any manga nor game..It’s an original story for the anime-production..

This 11-episodes anime is definitely something worth-watching..Its conflict, mysteries, and complications make the storyline unpredictable..

Here’s the music video of ‘Falling Down’ by Oasis as well as the opening video for ‘Eden of The East’..

Oasis - Falling Down

The summer sun, it blows my mind
Is falling down on all that I’ve ever known
Time will kiss the world goodbye
Falling down on all that I’ve ever known
Is all that I’ve ever known

A dying scream makes no sound
Calling out to all that I’ve ever known
Here am I, lost and found
Calling out to all

We live a dying dream
If you know what I mean
All that I’ve ever known
It’s all that I’ve ever known

Catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly
I cried the rain that fills the ocean wide
I tried to talk with God to no avail
Calling Him in and out of nowhere
Said if You won’t save me, please don’t waste my time

All that I’ve ever known
All that I’ve ever known
It’s all that I’ve ever known

Catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly
I cried the rain that fills the ocean wide
I tried to talk with God to no avail
Calling my name and out of nowhere
Said if You won’t save me, please don’t waste my time

The summer sun, it blows my mind
It’s falling down on all that I’ve ever known
Time will kiss the world goodbye
Falling down on all that I’ve ever known
Is all that I’ve ever known

The Ugly Truth Premiere Screening23

It’s a premiere screening of another chick flick..

Now that I think of it, chick flick is the category that I’ve watched the most, second to horror, if not more than that..

I don’t know why but I always relate my personal life in a way or another with most of the chick flicks that I’ve watched..Now I feel a bit sissy..

Anyway, I’m giving away 5 pairs of passes to the premiere screening of The Ugly Truth which is on 8th September 2009, 9.30pm at Cathay Cineplex Damansara, courtesy of Sony Pictures..

Just leave your name and e-mail as part of the comments and you are on the way to receive FREE movie tickets..

It’s a first come first serve basis, where first 5 commentators will receive a pair of the movie tickets!

the-ugly-truth-special

The Ugly Truth, is a movie that I reckon to be a good movie, starring Gerard Butler (300, P.S I Love You) and Katherine Heigl (Knocked Up, Grey’s Anatomy)..Who doesn’t want to see the King Leonidas, ruler of Sparta in a chick flick? I’ll be the first in line!

This movie is very much related to the theory that I’ve been believing since Primary school days..Hatred between a man and a woman will eventually become love, in its own way, or something like that..

I’ve always thought that when you hate a person, you’ll always think of him/her..From there, it’ll blossom into love..Lovely~~

the_ugly_truth_11

Well not that I know how the story goes and I’m definitely not giving out any spoilers..

To know the truth, you have to watch The Ugly Truth to find truth coz the truth is out there *X-Files theme playing in the background*..

Check out the trailer..

Watch the official trailer HERE..

Invitations will be sent out on 3rd September 2009 via email..Do check your email on that weekend..Set a reminder on your mobile if you are forgetful! :P

Pasta Zanmai And Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince @ Signature Gardens, Non-Spoiler6

Well, got an invitation from MAS Travel for a movie meet-up at Gardens to watch Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince..

I’m not a Harry Potter fan to begin with but who would say no to a movie which I’ve got good feedbacks from fellow friends..

Satkuru even shared in his Facebook, “If you think Transformers 2 is 10/10, Harry Potter is 15/10″..I was like WTF when I read that sentence..

So without hesitation I agreed and went to the movie with the gang..

Before the movie, Jun and I had dinner at Pasta Zanmai, which is like one of my favourite place for dinner in Midvalley..LOL~!!

Pictures grabbed from Jun and Jess..

*Pasta Zanmai*

On the top left was Jun’s Ebi Fry Curry Rice..She said it’s nice, and as I know Japanese curry is always quite thick and very rich, but I’ve yet to confirm with my taste bud..

The bottom two are my set meal of Mini Hotate Pizza and Mini Teriyaki Chicken Pasta..

Both were moderately good..Something worth mention is just the oysters on my Mini Hotate Pizza..They were good, at least for me..

The pasta, so so only..

After dinner we went to Gardens and met up with the others..Got our tickets and enjoy the movie..

IMHO, it’s not quite enjoyable for me..Not that I’ve watched the previous movies, let alone reading the books..

I had only watched the first two movies..The Sorcerer’s Stone and The Chamber of Secret if not mistaken..

The movie is like, no climax at all..Some of the scenes it tried to be funny or indirectly with subtle jokes, some were laughing very hard, but not for me..

Those are not really funny, as it’s nothing majorly funny..

And the most annoying part, Ron Weasley’s relationship with Lavender, is such a joke..A not funny one..

It’s almost the most exaggerated acting or scenes, let alone the annoying nickname Lavender gave to Ron Weasley, Won Won wtf..

Okay, some might say I’m bias because I’m not a fan to begin with but if you are saying so just because I’m not af an, don’t you think you are biased as well, if you are a big fan?

Other than me, some of them who joined us for the movie also said that they were disappointed with the ending and all, coz it’s like just halfway through if you’ve read the Half Blood Prince book, so I was being told..

Not to mention Boss twittered that he fell asleep when he was watching that movie with Audrey..Stim!

All in all, I don’t think it’s worth watching..Not that I anti Harry Potter, but from now on I’ll call it Hairy Pohdah-chit..

I’m not really looking forward to the rumored 2-parters finale, Hairy Pohdah-chit And The Deathly Hollow..

Now I’m very anticipated with G.I Joe, Inglourious Basterds, and Iron Man 2..

Michael Jackson - Dirty Diana0

I know, the Michael Jackson fever hasn’t cool down yet even after 2 weeks of his death..

A massive memorial service for him 2 days ago was indeed overwhelming and saddening, with lots of mixtures of feeling..

I actually help my tears when they sang those slow tracks like “We Are The World”, “Heal The World”, and “I’ll Be There”..

Now, one of the hit songs of my time, that’s few years after i was born, “Dirty Diana” (Bad album), is actually one of the lower profile ones and didn’t really played much on radio nor TV recently..

There’s speculation that this song is dedicated to Diana Ross, who is believed to have been having affair with Michael Jackson..

So here’s the video and lyrics of “Dirty Diana” by Michael Jackson..

Michael Jackson - Dirty Diana

Oh No . . .
Oh No . . .
Oh No . . .

You’ll Never Make Me Stay
So Take Your Weight Off Of Me
I Know Your Every Move
So Won’t You Just Let Me Be
I’ve Been Here Times Before
But I Was Too Blind To See
That You Seduce Every Man
This Time You Won’t Seduce Me

She’s Saying That’s Ok
Hey Baby Do What You Please
I Have The Stuff That You Want
I Am The Thing That You Need
She Looked Me Deep In The Eyes
She’s Touchin’ Me So To Start
She Says There’s No Turnin’ Back
She Trapped Me In Her Heart

Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana, No
Dirty Diana
Let Me Be!

Oh No . . .
Oh No . . .
Oh No . . .

She Likes The Boys In The
Band
She Knows When They Come To Town
Every Musician’s Fan After
The Curtain Comes Down
She Waits At Backstage
Doors
For Those Who Have Prestige
Who Promise
Fortune And Fame, A Life
That’s So Carefree
She’s Saying That’s Ok
Hey Baby Do What You Want
I’ll Be Your Night Lovin’ Thing
I’ll Be The Freak You Can Taunt
And I Don’t Care What You
Say
I Want To Go Too Far
I’ll Be Your Everything
If You Make Me A Star

Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana, No
Dirty Diana . . .
Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana, No
Dirty Diana . . .
Diana!
Diana!
Dirty Diana!
It’s Dia . . .Aa . . .Aa . . .
Come On!

She Said I Have To Go Home
‘Cause I’m Real Tired You See
But I Hate Sleepin’ Alone
Why Don’t You Come With
Me
I Said My Baby’s At Home
She’s Probably Worried
Tonight
I Didn’t Call On The Phone To
Say That I’m Alright

Diana Walked Up To Me,
She Said I’m All Yours
Tonight
At That I Ran To The Phone
Sayin’ Baby I’m Alright
I Said But Unlock The Door,
Because I Forgot The Key,
She Said He’s Not Coming
Back
Because He’s Sleeping With
Me

Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana, No
Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana, Nah
Dirty Diana . . .
Come On!
Come On!
Come On!
Come On!…

Public Enemies Starring Johnny Depp - Non-Spoiler5

How many of you have been a public enemy before?

I’m not sure whether I have been one but at least I have a bunch of good friends to hang out with..I guess that explains all?

Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp and the Dark Knight, I mean, Christian Bale, is all about trench coat, mafia-like robbers, FBI, and err, a bit of love story..

The movie is based on a true story from the point of view of FBI agent Melvin Purvis, regarding his attempts to stop crimes in the era of 1933, set in Chicago..

That’s where the movie starts, on how Agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) tries to stop criminals like John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) and few other real-life high-profile criminals in the era of 1930’s..

It’s based on true story anyway, of course other characters are real-life as well..

The movie focuses on John Dillinger’s excellent bank robberies, escape from jails, and actually make a mockery on the US laws..

I must say it’s quite an awesome movie, if not the best..

Sorry that I might be a bit bias on this matter as I actually have preference on movies based onĀ  true stories, what’s more if it offers real-life story of somewhat legendary bank robber..

Of course, due to much of these bank heists and robberies at that time being, it led to some developments in the US laws and enforcements..

In this movie you wouldn’t see much of the clown-ish side of Johnny Depp in his character Jack Sparrow from Pirates of The Caribbean..

He carries a much flamboyant egoistic character, which I had expect much from a so-called dangerous criminal who has created few urban legends in The States..

A bit usage of handy-cam creates a closer-to-the-scene kinda feeling in some of the scenes in the movie is pretty good..

It gets a bit draggy in the middle of the movie, nevertheless it’s still an enjoyable and good movie..

I would rate it 6.5/10..

If you have not, do watch the trailer of Public Enemies starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale..
