BERSIH 3.0 – My Experience At 428, Masjid Jamek – Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur9

I have missed the BERSIH 2.0 because I was invited to a friend’s wedding in Penang on the very same day, 9th July 2011, the fateful day of 709..

This time around, on 28th April 2012, the BERSIH 3.0 rally is up again seeking for a fair and free election..And I know I cannot miss this 428 event..

It made me even more excited when I know my groups of friends who have kept silent all these while, have decided to join the rally as well..That’s when I know I’m not alone..

At about 12.15pm, we took LRT from Pandan Indah and got off at Plaza Rakyat station..The moment we stepped out of the train, the situation was very intensed as we saw much more people wearing the yellow and green shirt..

The crowd stretched from Masjid Jamek on Jalan Tun Perak all the way til Puduraya, that we haven’t not take into account the people at Central Market, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Parlimen, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, and Lynas people coming from KLCC, Jalan Ampang..

We started our journey on Jalan Pudu, walk passed Kotaraya and S & M then cut through the road to Leboh Pudu to Bangkok Bank..

It was a very rare occasion that the busy street at Jalan Pudu and Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock is all empty, only people walking on the road side..

We were on an empty Leboh Pudu walking to Central Market, one of the gathering points of BERSIH 3.0..

Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) was on standby to keep the situation in control..Unit Amal marshals (in maroon uniform) were there to assist the crowd before the leading man of that gathering point arrived..

It was around 12.45pm and my group proceeded to the Malaysian Bar Council (Majlis Peguam Malaysia) along Jalan Hang Kasturi..

Get ready with a very long post ahead..

Living Expenses In Kuala Lumpur4

While I was stuck in the jam earlier, something struck my head:

How much money needed to live comfortably for 50-years without working..

*Image taken from Google Images*

So the calculation is (all figures are in Malaysian Ringgit):

Fuel = 500/month x 12months x 50-years = 300k..
Change a good car every 10-years (at least) = 150k x 5 = 750k..
House utilities and maintenance etc = 2,000/month (is freaking a lot!) x 12-months x 50-years = 1.2mil..
Furniture and home appliances for every 5-years (at least) = 20k x 10 = 200k..
Food = 100/day x 365-days = 36.5k, roundup to 40k/year x 50-years = 2mil..
Entertainment = 100/day = same as food = 2mil..
Misc (clothes, extra expenditure, etc) = 2k/month x 12-months x 50-years = 1.2mil..

Total = 300k + 750k + 1.2mil +200k + 2mil + 2mil + 1.2mil = 7.65mil..
Round up (including rise in living expenses, inflation, etc) = Approximately 8mil for 50-years..

That’s roughly RM160k per year, and that’s for the living expenses of a single life…

Some friends said the figure is over-assumed because one doesn’t really need to spend up to RM100 on food and entertainment respectively. every day!

Well I’m talking about living comfortable without working, so I also have to presume one needs entertainment most of the days, if not everyday..

More of less we have to put it in the worst situation, else it wouldn’t be called living comfortably..The figures also exclude the cost of a home, considering you are already living in one, fully paid comfortable house..

Say a meal at an okay restaurant such as Ben’s, Italiannies, Rakuzen, La Bodega, Alexis, Chillis, and the likes of it, can easily cost you RM30 per person..

Considering you are a guy, single (or even if you are attached but not married), as a gentleman you need to pay for 2 person..A lunch or dinner meal can easily cost you at least RM50 per meal..

What about dessert? Tea-time at Starbucks? All are not very expensive, still affordable, but it’s not very cheap neither..

So a plus-minus daily estimation of RM100 for food and RM100 for entertainment is pretty reasonable..

Anyway, there figures are just some food for thought, don’t take it too serious, constructive comments are welcome. :)

Hari Kemerdekaan Malaysia, Tanggal 31 Bulan 8, 5719

“Ah neh, kira..Teh O Ais satu, char kuey teow satu”..

Jadi, apa kata kamu sekarang?

Juice 7th Anniversary @ Euphoria, MOS9

Last Friday, 24th July 2009, was the day Juice Mag celebrated its 7th anniversary at Euphoria the Ministry of Sound, at Sunway..

Thanks to Jess for getting the VIP tix for us and I guess most of us enjoyed much of the free-flow of Chivas, Vodka, and Martell..

But the free-flow ended around 11pm..That’s the most frustrating part..Sigh..

Anyway, here’s a photo of some of us who went to the birthday party..

*The blogger bunch, photo by Howard*

Before I talk about the not-so-much details of the party, a rare incident happened to me on the upper floor where all the VIPs were..

Just as the event kickstarted, I was skodeng-ing from the VIP area on the 1st floor..

Then suddenly a Chinese, full dreadlock hairdo, tapped on my shoulder..I took a look at him, he smirked at me.To be polite, I smiled back..

Then, he rested his arm on my shoulder like how a good friend always do..I didn’t really care coz it actually scared me a bit wtf..

I couldn’t take it no more, I asked dreadlock with mustache guy “Are you Michael Cheang?”..Coz he really looked like Michael Cheang, minus the dreadlock..

So I thought Michael Cheang actually put on a wig and tried to scare me off..

Not long after that, he said, “Shit, I thought you are my friend~!!”..

And as alert as I am, I straight told him that I think I know who he’s talking about..So he continued to describe how his friend looks like and all..

In reply, I told him I know everything about it, as in how he looks like and how we both shared the same features, long hair, specky, averagely tall, and our face does look alike..

Yeah, he’s no other than Chi Minh (or something like that) whom I’ve blogged about not long ago about my “twin” brother..

I’ve heard of people mistaken him as me coz they were asking me whether I was there at that time or here at this time or some other places at some other times..

BUT, this was the very first time people mistaken me and him..This is such a rare case..

On a side note, I don’t know Chi Minh personally but I guess both of us actually acknowledged each other’s existence..LOL~!! Creepy? :P

Ok that’s all I want to say regarding the rare incident..LOL..

*L>R – Joshua, Hikaru, Me, Ren*

With Joey G hosting for the night, it did get the crowd going with his awesome personae, and not to mention that the girls and gays go wild and gaga over him wtf..

There were performances like Adidas fashion show, DJ Goldfish, and few others whom I didn’t pay attention to..

Oh, and a bit of nipple slip from a female singer whom I didn’t even know her name..

Not to forget Chris Tock won a bottle of Absolut Vodka for Best Dressed..Besides that, PPC also won something in another contest but she’s just “one watch” shy to win a 3D2N trip to Langkawi..

Well, I guess that’s all I want to talk about the event coz after that it was all camwhoring with the party girls of Adele, Jacklyn, Bell, and their gang..

Much fun was after that at Ming Tien, with jokes from some crazy friends coz we were talking about roadblocks and all..

Police : Pergi mana?
Me : Depan..
Police : Dari mana?
Me : Belakang..

There were lots more that we couldn’t stop laughing while we were eating wtf..

But I guess that’s it..You need some Juice? *wriggle eyebrows*

H1N1 Is Not Quite A Scare Anymore, Thinks MOH30

If you’ve been following my Twitter and Plurk few days ago, I said that I’m down with sickness, running nose and sore throat, that’s on Sunday..

I’ve mild running nose since early last week and I didn’t even give a damn about it..

Not that I’m not afraid of A(H1N1) or whatsoever, but I believed in my body immune system, so there’s nothing to be afraid of..

But little did I know, I’ve been going to bed very late recently and that definitely hit me right in the face..

Not to mention I’ve been going to events and all, such as Juice Anniversary and Heineken Green Room..

Well anyway, when I got up on Monday morning, the sore throat is getting me a bit..Still, I didn’t give a damn about it, until after lunch..

Many friends on Twitter and Plurk asked me to go see the doctor or maybe a check up..

Monday morning, running nose and sore throat..After lunch, joint and muscle pain, slight dizziness, where I can feel my head is pumping faster than usual..

Near to dinner, I felt my body a bit heaty, a bit like feverish..So I took 2 pills of Panadol after dinner..

Midnight, nothing much happened..I even had supper of hotdog bun and a chicken pie..

Tuesday morning, heaty body and more running nose..So I decided to go see Dr. L somewhere in Cheras, a so-called family doctor ever since I was a baby..

So here’s something I want to share with you guys if you didn’t know..And congrats to those already know..

P/S - By the way, if not because of my finals is around the corner, I wouldn’t trouble myself to go to the clinic..

He asked me, “What happen?”..

I said, “I suspect myself for having H1N1″..

Dr. L continued, “Even if you suspect that but nothing i can do coz we are not running any test anymore”..

He says that, even if we go straight to Sungai Buloh, the main centre for H1N1 patients, they will not run a test for us too..

If you suspect yourself for contracted with H1N1, they will ask you STUPID questions..

They will ask, “Have you got in touch with people that is infected with H1N1?”..

Say if I were there, I will say, “I don’t know..I’ve been going out to events and uni in the past 1-week..So I’ve made contact with at least 3,000-5,000 people..How would I know if any of them is infected with H1N1?”..

The hospital authorities (Sg Buloh or maybe General Hospital) will say this to you, “Okay now you have to call each and everyone you’ve made contact with and double confirm whether they are infected with H1N1″..

How stupid this statement is..Make phone calls to the 3,000-5,000 people that I’ve made contact with..They got their doctorate with a brain in the ass or what?

Here’s one complaint letter from a The Star reader saying he was rejected to do the test if he’s infected with H1N1..

Okay, if I were to call all of my friends whom I’ve made contact with, definitely they didn’t have H1N1, or at least I think so, because they were out and all..

Say I’ve made contact with 200 of my friends..What about the remaining 2,800-4,800 people that I don’t know?

If there’s no definite confirmation that I’ve contacted people infected with H1N1, the hospitals will not admit nor run a test on self-suspect patients..

In this case, me..Unless, you are a high-risk groups such as children, pregnant women, elders, or something like that..

So Dr. L told me that he has to treat my illness as normal flu, as the symptoms for both normal flu and H1N1 is very very similar, except for vomiting and sudden change of body condition, such as appetite or something damn serious..

Well, I understand that the doctors cannot treat each and every flu patients as a suspect of H1N1 because if they do so, it will be very chaotic and all..

I even understand that for sure there will be shortage of work force in the hospitals if everyone were to suspect themselves for having H1N1..

I even mentioned earlier that I have confidence in my body immune system, where if you see the past death cases, it’s either involving young child, elders, or maybe people who is lacked of nutrient and all..

But now, they are not even running a test to check whether you are infected or not..

I would say to hell with all the newspaper headlines higlighting the current death toll in Malaysia has increased to 8 cases..

Coz being a Malaysian, it’s very normal that we get used to the Government’s order of, “It’s not serious yet..Wait til death toll up to 50 first” mentality..

Same goes to collapse of buildings, road accidents, and many other hot issues..

If you have flu, fever, sore throat, and muscle pain, just take panadols is sufficient enough, IMHO..

So, recover, or go die~!! ARGH~!!

Malaysian School Bully Continues19

I’m proud to be a Malaysian..Yes, I’m telling the truth, of course, minus all the corrupted authorities and our future leader, school bullies..

Back in 2006, I’ve blogged about the St. Joseph school bully all the way from Miri, Sarawak..

Then came the Singapore girl bully video few days after the St. Joseph mishap..

I don’t know whether the school children was trying to ride on the fame of instant hit via Youtube, another 2 clips unveiled days after that, again..

All these 3 incidents happened in 2006, within 1 week, that is..

I don’t remember any actions taken against the St. Joseph bullies as according to rumour, the parents of one of the bullies are gangster or some shit..

So I guess everything is covered up very well that it left no trace which I guess most people didn’t remeber a thing from it..Mind you, I still have that clip..

Early this year, Wingz told me something happened to his 7-year old son and it was quite serious shit..

Apparently, a classmate of Wingz’s son Lil Devil, wanted to take his pencil and Lil Devil didn’t let him take it..Then the alleged “bully” took his own pencil and poke Lil Devil’s left eye..

That incident left Lil Devil an eye with injured cornea, which could lead to blindness..What does the school authority did? I don’t know..

Fortunately Lil Devil is now recovered, what if he went blind and cuckoo? He’s just a 7-year old kid and just started his schooling days..He’s hot long way to go..

Just yesterday, another 2 serious school bully incident happened..Okay maybe there were others that led to death as well in the past 2 years but I got no motivation to blog about it..

The recent incident, a Form 4 student fell victim to school bullies last year and it was video recorded by one of the attackers..

The video has leaked out and it causes so-called trauma on the victim..

n_footage
*Taken from The Star Online*

According to the news, the victim had been “harassed” by the bullies for quite some time..The victim also had lodged police reports as well as reported it to the school authority..

After the bullies found out that he reported to the authorites, they beat him up and that led to the recent surfaced video, which I’ve yet to watch it..

Worst of all, Seri Kembangan assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah said that although the school had summoned the culprits for questioning, no action had been taken..

Now don’t you love to live in Malaysia? You beat up a student, you get to escape the punishment..So you get to keep on bully again, again, and again..

So if the video clip hadn’t surfaced on Youtube or the Internet, the authorities will just remain silent on this matter?

After the clip is revealed, only they tried to take credits or take the blame by saying they are already doing their “job”?? Nonsense bullshit~!!!

Then another case, a 14-year-old boy is in a coma at the Penang Hospital after his classmate allegedly hit him on the head with a plastic water bottle..

The mother said she was told (by the doctor) her son suffered excessive internal bleeding in his brain and that his skull was cracked, which might end up partially paralysed or experience frequent fits as his brain had been badly damaged..

n_05chai
*Taken from The Star Online*

Well okay, I know the bottom of a plastic bottle is very hard, especially soft drink kinda bottles, where as mineral water type is a bit soft because most of it are now recyclable..

Okay this one might have been a bit accidental but anyway, this shows that friends shouldn’t act too harsh among friends..

On a side note, I still remember my time that a lot of Indian and Malay students liked to mock wrestling in the class..

Yes, with all the “choke slam“, “stunner“, and whatsoever finishing moves done by the pro wrestlers a.k.a Oscar-deserved-winner actors and actresses..

There were twice serious shits happened during my time and of course, the friend involved got so scared because a junior blacked-out after he choke-slammed the little guy or something..

But those are accidents where when you apply a bit of logical and sane thinking, you wouldn’t involve yourself in silly wrestling mock-ups..

As for real school bullies, I do believed at least 50% of them are real secret society a.k.a gangsters a.k.a triad gangs..

Therefore, they thought they have the upperhand and back ups..That’s how all the bullying started..

I wonder how long does the authorities, whether from the Education Ministry or PDRM or any other affiliated authority, needed to curb all these failures in our society..

It’s been quite some time since my last rant on current issues..It felt so good after doing so..

Now, do your part, lodge police reports, again and again until they take action..No one should get hurt in school because school SHOULD be the safest place for any child..

I’ll be the happiest man on Earth if all these fucktards are sent into rehabs or any jail or prison if it’s within the country’s jurisdiction, that is..

It’s where children learn things and gain knowledge, not to get hurt..Thank you..Sekian..
