The online game “Make the Street Yours” specially developed by Tiger as part of its ongoing efforts to dial up the consumer engagement for the upcoming Tiger Street Football National and Grand Finals this September, owning your very own virtual street is now possible..
“Make the Street Yours” challenges football game aficionados to compete and own the streets of Malaysia, and have the conquered streets named after them..Streets in four regions in Malaysia, namely Johor Bahru, Penang, Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur are up for challenge..
The game’s premise is very easy – players choose the streets where they would like to conquer and overcome the defences to score a goal to make the streets theirs..
Sounds easy, but the real challenge starts when other players come in to claim the streets for themselves and this is where the game gets more challenging and addictive at the same time..
The more streets the players conquer, the more points they get..Back in real life, players do have a stake in the “Make the Street Yours” game..To make the game even more exciting, Tiger is giving away two highly coveted Mini Velo Bikes as the reward for the game winners..
Tiger “Make the Street Yours” online game is available for all to play at www.tigerbeer.com.my/streetfootball starting 1 August until 8 September 2011..

On 21st July 2011, it was the day where I got to meet Chelsea FC star players on the pitch, by using my tele-lens..
The match between Malaysia Olympic U-23 Squad Selection vs Chelsea FC was the last in an Asia Tour by 3 English football clubs..
Got my tickets, thanks to Noobie and of course Samsung for bringing the star-studded team into Malaysian soil!

As usual, I donned my national team’s jersey, the hitam-kuning (black-yellow) jersey with due respect to show my support to the national team, the Harimau Muda Malaya..
The Harimau Malaya (senior team) had to prepare for the World Cup Asian Zone Qualifying Round so the Harimau Muda (U-23 team) were picked to play against Chelsea FC..

*L>R – Didier Drogba, don’t-know, Nicolas Anelka*
Few Chelsea players came on the pitch before kick-off to greet the fans and we can see the guys were snapping photos of the crowd..

*John Terry*
Chelsea captain John Terry holding his mobile phone while waving to the crowd, probably video recording the atmosphere of the strong supporters..

*Two guys carrying a placard with “Torres Marry Me” wtf*
These guys here are probably gay, or maybe not, coz one of them were holding the placard saying “TORRES MARRY ME”..
I hope he’s holding it for his sister..
Daphne, Joshua, and I were seated behind Malaysia goal in the first-half..
More than half of the photographers were behind the Malaysia goal as well to capture photos of Chelsea’s attacking..

On 28th May 2011, the UEFA Champions’ League was first to be held on a Saturday instead of the usual weekday of Wednesday or Thursday..
Went to Sid’s Pub at Bangsar South to watch one of the most memorable football matches so far with my friends..
The match between Barcelona vs Manchester United would be awesome with a capital A..
The starting line-up was as following :
| Barcelona
1 Victor Valdés |
Man Utd
1 Edwin van der Sar |
| 3 Gerard Piqué |
15 Nemanja Vidic |
| 14 Javier Mascherano |
5 Rio Ferdinand |
| 22 Eric Abidal |
3 Patrice Evra |
| 2 Dani Alves |
20 Fabio |
| 16 Sergio Busquets |
11 Ryan Giggs |
| 8 Andrés Iniesta |
16 Michael Carrick |
| 6 Xavi |
13 Park Ji-Sung |
| 7 David Villa |
25 Antonio Valencia |
| 10 Lionel Messi |
10 Wayne Rooney |
| 17 Pedro |
14 Javier Hernández |
All photos being used are taken from UEFA Champions’ League Official Website Photo Gallery..

*Starting line-ups*
The match kick-started and everyone was hoping for a good match as it was a match between Spanish champion and English champion at the Wembley Stadium..
Two years ago the two met in the Finals in Rome and Man Utd got whipped by a classy Catalan side but this year, Man Utd is back with a stronger side with stronger mentality..
The first 10-minutes Barca looked shaky as if their good form is jinxed by Man Utd’s good form..

*Gerard Pique challenges Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (white)*
For a moment I thought it would be a disappointing match because Barca had been making mistakes and shitty passes, very different from the passing-experts of Xavi and Iniesta..
Man Utd have been making waves of attacks and Barca looked pretty weak..I was dumbfounded..

*Park Ji-sung challenges Lionel Messi*
Fortunately, after about 15-minutes, Barca fine tuned their passes and they finally played the game on par with Man Utd, with their usual slick passes..
If that’s not enough, Pedro slotted in a goal on the 27th minute and it was a moment to cheer for..

*Pedro’s goal*
Seven minutes later Rooney found the back of the net to levelled on 1-1..

*Rooney’s goal*
It’s frustrating but it’s good to see a good fight from both sides at just 34-minutes, with almost an hour to go..
The first-half ended with Barca dominating almost 60% of ball possessions..
More photos and brief match coverage after the jump, like loads of it!

The most prestigious trophy of football in the club level, the UEFA Champions League trophy made a pit stop in Malaysia in its Trophy Tour 2011..
The last time the trophy made a visit to Malaysia was 4-years ago and so it’s said that the trophy will not be coming to our shore for the next 4-years, at least!
So I made a visit to Sunway Pyramid to catch a glimpse of the trophy and boy, it was crowded!

*The stage*
Numbers of people queued up to have a photo with the trophy, all donned in their favourite team’s jersey..
The Trophy Tour event was further brightened up with the presence of Joey G as the emcee throughout the event..

*Arsenal fan with the trophy*
Sunway Pyramid was the trophy’s first stop before heading to Gurney Plaza (Penang) on 5th and 6th March 2011..
Then the trophy will be making a comeback in Kuala Lumpur in Centre Court, Pavilion KL on 11th and 12th March 2011..

As this event is brought to you by Heineken, queue up to take a polaroid photo of you with the trophy, buy a bottle of Heineken beer that comes together with a coaster, and you are entitle to join a contest to win a trip to Wembley Stadium..

*Memorabilia*
Other than showcasing the Champions League Trophy, Heineken also brought us some memorabilia from previous matches, from the balls to jerseys and goalkeeper hand gloves being worn by certain players during a Champions League match..
