MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia 2010 @ Sunway Lagoon3

Two weeks ago on 31st July 2010, MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia is back!

Was there with Daphne, Joshua, and Satkuru..Found our way to meet up with Ginny, Vivien, and Natalie..

We got our passes courtesy of Nuffnang yay!

We reached Sunway at about 5-ish-6pm and it’s freaking packed already..The queue was pretty long and we managed to slip in at the front row, cutting our queuing time by approximately of at least 1 hour..

When we were about to show the security our passes, the sky started to give us a heavy downpour, really heavy one..

The organiser was pretty smart to provide the party-goers disposable ponchos..So I kept a few just in case..

So we entered with the poncho on and the party was about to begin with Asia’s VJs taking the control of the stage..

Namely VJ Utt (Thai), VJ Juju (China), and 2 more others whom I can’t really remember coz I don’t have cable TV so yeah, I don’t really watch MTV

The event kickstarted with our very own local pop-rock outfit, Bunkface..

Although some might be bored (people like me :P) of their songs and antics but it’s undeniable that Bunkface has got the talent to get the crowd moving and a good warm-up before international acts kick in..

Another thing getting the crowd moving is because of the songs..Bunkface’s songs are kinda “household” to any music lover who supports local music..

The crowd started to sing along as their songs are pretty familiar to any Malaysian due to its wide publicity and catchy tune and lyrics..

After Bunkface, the crowd took some rest before the Korean girls group Wonder Girls came on stage with their sexy outfits..

IMHO, they speak pretty good English as compared to many other Korean artistes..

Honestly, I don’t know any of their songs other than “Nobody”, but I was pretty entertained with other songs as well..

They were in their signature “Nobody” golden outfit and the crowd started to clap hands, lift up one of their legs, and pointing the person in front of them, you get the drift..

After the Wonder Girls, the event was going down the drain for a while, no pun intended..

It took slightly more than an hour for Tokio Hotel to perform due to “technical difficulties” and the non-stop rain..

MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia Is Back3

The second installment of MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia is back where last year’s one ended with a blast at the very same venue, Sunway Lagoon..

MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2010 is one of MTV’s most recognizable and eagerly anticipated events..This global series reaches over 550 million households worldwide and features the hottest music artists performing at unique locations around the world.

Music fans in 162 countries are transported to front row seats somewhere in the world to experience their favorite recording artists live.

I’ve got an opportunity to go for the very first MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia in 2009 but I snubbed it due to my exam and I’ve definitely missed one of the greatest event/concert being held in Malaysia..

Last year’s MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia featured The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, Raygun, Boys Like Girls, Kasabian, Pixie Lott, and of course local outfit Estranged..

So this year I’m not going to blow the chance and am definitely going to Sunway Lagoon and enjoy my weekend to the fullest this time around..

The artistes line-up is quite an awesome one with local artiste Bunkface, internationals with Katy Perry, Tokio Hotel, and Korean girl group Wonder Girls of the “Nobody” song fame..

The thing is, MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia is one of the very few events where its passes are money can’t buy! It’s either you win it, win it, or win it!

Unifest @ UCSI University1

Unifest is one of the 5 events under Fiesta Numero Uno, organized by UCSIU’s Student Council..

It’s in the second year now where its maiden festival in 2009 saw Juwita Suwito rocking the university down..

Good thing was there’s no entry charges and bad thing was it’s open only for UCSIU students..Well, it’s bad for outsiders, of course

Several bands played that night, some were students of UCSIU and other guests artistes including big names like An Honest Mistake and Seven Collar T-Shirt..

First heard of them in No Black Tie and knew they would definitely make it big with the right guidance and all..

MASTravel Facebook Fanpage 1st Anniversary @ M.O.S Euphoria, Sunway2

Few weeks back, MASTravel organized a birthday bash for its Facebook Fanpage at MOS Euphoria in Sunway..

It was quite a big event with performances by local artistes including Joe Flizzow, One Buck Short, Pop Shuvit, Altimet, Deja Voodoo Spells, and also Joanna & Co..

It’s been already 1 year since MASTravel launched their Facebook Fanpage with lots of goodies to be won, as well as low fare tickets to grab..And it’s time to celebrate their success..

Brought Ruirui as my guest and of course the few regulars were there too, include Kristine, Flora, Wingz, Hsu Jen, and Wenpink..

Joanna & Co kicked start the event with their mellow yet energetic songs..The one and only female artiste of the night..Hehe..

Next was One Buck Short, been in the music industry for some time and have gained successes in the local scene..One of the many local bands that I like

*MC Altimet*

Altimet, a member of Teh Tarik Crew gave his best and it was a very entertaining one..Love his lovey-dovey rap songs talk about slice of life and Malaysian culture..

*Deja Voodoo Spells*

Deja Voodoo Spells, one of the hard rock outfits in Malaysia and they were indeed rocking the house down! Their instrumental piece was kinda euphoric and their cover of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody was rocking too..

*Joe Flizzow the Mr President*

Joe Flizzow made the crowd moved with his “Bergerak” and also a cover of “Isabella”, in hip-hop style..

*Pop Shuvit*

Last but not least, one of the most successful Malaysian bands playing abroad, Pop Shuvit, closed the curtain with their “Marabahaya”..

It was quite a rare scene to see so many top notch local artistes together in an event and it’s FREE~!!! Well let Rock The World alone coz you have to pay for it..LOL..

Kinda enjoyed myself and I didn’t have to push around and they gave out so many freebies including air tickets to abroad, including Bali, Phnom Penh, and few more destinations..

Though I didn’t won any but I’m looking forward for more low fare tickets!

Launch of Delicious Times & D’lish New Menu @ D’lish, Bangsar Village 19

D’lish, one of the restaurants under the Delicious Group umbrella - including Delicious, Reunion, and Delicious Ingredients -is somewhat a fast-food concept joint where you get to have a quick meal if you are in a hurry..

Instead of dine-in like in Delicious and others, D’lish has cooked food to be taken away..

Delicious Group is now introducing their very first issue of its own in-house magazine, Delicious Times, an issue every quarter of they ear..

Delicious Times aims to appeal to a wide variety of readers by featuring a broad range of topics guaranteed to be of interest to its base of sophisticated customers..

Of course bakery is not the only thing on their shelf..They are introducing new menu and it has quite a variety..

Chef Ravi and Chef Mimi injected some new and refreshing flavors to the menu, namely Spanish, Greek, and Middle Eastern inspired delectable dishes..

Their new signature dishes include salt beef and ox tongue sandwiches, roast lamb, and mint salad..A new dedicated dinner menu is also served from 6pm daily..

The sausages and burgers are pretty nice to my liking..The steaks were pretty good too but I was a bit too full after that..

They even had a frame section for some syok sendiri moment for the guests..So we had a few too, and had them printed out on A3 sheets..

It’s an interesting and simple concept..I like the “frame” thingy..Other guests can’t get enough of it..

Theobroma Chocolate “Sweet Essentials” Campaign @ The Curve2

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge recently culminated their very own campaign Theobroma “Sweet Essentials” Campaign which ran from 1st of December 2009 till 31st of January 2010..

The “Sweet Essentials” campaign was jointly supported by PrimaNora Medical Centre and managed to raise RM20,000 for the Pride Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to enhance breast cancer awareness and improving accessibility to treatmeant and care amongst Malaysian women..

Throughout the campaign period, RM1 from every transaction made at all Theobroma Chocolate Lounge outlets was being accumulated to be donated to the Pride Foundation..

Executive chairperson of Hing Yiap Group Berhad, Ms Chi Oi Meng announced the figure and presented the cheque to Pride Foundation chairperson Datin Azrene Abdullah..

Salina & Associates PR also jumped on the wagon and contributed RM2,000 to Pride Foundation in support of breast cancer awareness..

Apart from the cheque presentation ceremony, Theobroma Chocolate Lounge also treated the guests with their latest menu and also to a chance to customize our very own crepes..

We got to choose the ingredients, such as chocolate chips and strawberry, to go with the crepe..
