UEFA Champions’ League Final – Barcelona vs Manchester United2

On 28th May 2011, the UEFA Champions’ League was first to be held on a Saturday instead of the usual weekday of Wednesday or Thursday..

Went to Sid’s Pub at Bangsar South to watch one of the most memorable football matches so far with my friends..

The match between Barcelona vs Manchester United would be awesome with a capital A..

The starting line-up was as following :

Barcelona

1 Victor Valdés

Man Utd

1 Edwin van der Sar

3 Gerard Piqué 15 Nemanja Vidic
14 Javier Mascherano 5 Rio Ferdinand
22 Eric Abidal 3 Patrice Evra
2 Dani Alves 20 Fabio
16 Sergio Busquets 11 Ryan Giggs
8 Andrés Iniesta 16 Michael Carrick
6 Xavi 13 Park Ji-Sung
7 David Villa 25 Antonio Valencia
10 Lionel Messi 10 Wayne Rooney
17 Pedro 14 Javier Hernández

All photos being used are taken from UEFA Champions’ League Official Website Photo Gallery..

*Starting line-ups*

The match kick-started and everyone was hoping for a good match as it was a match between Spanish champion and English champion at the Wembley Stadium..

Two years ago the two met in the Finals in Rome and Man Utd got whipped by a classy Catalan side but this year, Man Utd is back with a stronger side with stronger mentality..

The first 10-minutes Barca looked shaky as if their good form is jinxed by Man Utd’s good form..

*Gerard Pique challenges Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (white)*

For a moment I thought it would be a disappointing match because Barca had been making mistakes and shitty passes, very different from the passing-experts of Xavi and Iniesta..

Man Utd have been making waves of attacks and Barca looked pretty weak..I was dumbfounded..

*Park Ji-sung challenges Lionel Messi*

Fortunately, after about 15-minutes, Barca fine tuned their passes and they finally played the game on par with Man Utd, with their usual slick passes..

If that’s not enough, Pedro slotted in a goal on the 27th minute and it was a moment to cheer for..

*Pedro’s goal*

Seven minutes later Rooney found the back of the net to levelled on 1-1..

*Rooney’s goal*

It’s frustrating but it’s good to see a good fight from both sides at just 34-minutes, with almost an hour to go..

The first-half ended with Barca dominating almost 60% of ball possessions..

More photos and brief match coverage after the jump, like loads of it!

Uniqlo Malaysia Aftermath With 18 Cash Vouchers @ Fahnrenheit 88, KL6

Went to Uniqlo for the third time last Friday and it’s the real shopping session for Daphne and I..

Reached Fahrenheit 88 at slightly after 11am, just to be sure there are sizes available because the shop opens at 11am..I know, kiasu we are but hell with it! :P

Got our 18 cash vouchers validated and off we scrutinized the whole shop for things we wanted..

As predicted, new stocks for every new day..We grabbed all the S-size that we saw on the Mickey T and of course a M-size of anime print for myself..

Got all the somewhat pretty designs and correct sizes, then only we start to filter which one we want and which one we don’t want..

Found the shirt that I want..Daphne found her leggings, and we have enough vouchers to grab some boxers :D

Here’s what we got ourselves..

*Mickey Mouse print Disney Ts*

Three of them are RM29.90..Used RM20 voucher for each so each costs RM9.90..

Two of them are RM24.90..Used RM20 voucher for each so each costs RM4.90..

*Anime print Ts*

Bought two Galaxy Express 999 T and one Inuyasha print..

Original price is RM59.90..
Promo price is RM29.90..

Used RM20 voucher for each..Each T costs RM9.90..The gray one is for me and the other two for Wilson for lending me his vouchers when I went with him..

*Oxford shirt and dry pants*

Oxford shirt is RM99.90..Used a RM50 voucher..Paid RM49.90 for it..

Dry cotton pants, original price is RM99.90..Promo price is RM49.90..Used RM20 voucher for it, paid RM29.90..

Bought another two Men’s Boxers, priced at RM19.95 each..Used RM20 voucher for each..I got two boxers for FREE! :D

Bought 4 Women’s Boxers, priced at RM24.90..Used RM20 voucher for each..Paid RM4.90 for each..

Bought two Women’s Leggings, priced at RM39.90 each..Used RM20 voucher for each, paid RM19.90 for each..

Total damage would be RM208.40, after using 17 RM20 vouchers and one RM50 voucher..

It didn’t use those vouchers, it would be..
(20 x 17) + 50 + 208.4 = 598.4..

Not to mention if those Ts were selling at original price of RM59.90..

So Daphne and I have saved up to RM390 on cash vouchers for our shopping spree~!!!

*18 receipts for using 18 cash vouchers*

Okay I didn’t mean to act cute or anything but the receipts were rolled so I have to use my face to ‘stand’ the receipts..

Yes, Daphne and I have 18 cash vouchers altogether..Worth waiting for not shopping for the past week..

Some might say I’m too much into Uniqlo fever or I’m promoting Uniqlo too much but do bear in mind that I’m spending so much on Uniqlo because the prices are reasonable..

And when I say reasonable is when I have so many cash vouchers..

I wouldn’t pay RM59.90 for an anime print T-shirt..I only paid RM9.90 for it..It’s even cheaper than night market!

And I got 2 boxers for FREE~!!

On a side note, I think my Oxford shirt is quite a steal because I just paid RM49.90 for it..I like it because of its checker-print on the inner sleeves and collar..

And I only paid RM208 for 18 items worth close to RM600..I can only say I’m a smart consumer..Not too extreme, nor want to hard sell on Uniqlo..

Not meant to defend my take on my shopping spree and to offend anyone if they REALLY like Uniqlo, but I don’t like to be tagged as too hard sell on Uniqlo..

Happy welcoming Year End Sales (Y.E.S) everyone :D

Paramore Live In Kuala Lumpur @ National Stadium Bukit Jalil, Malaysia3

On 19th October 2010, I got a pair of tickets for Paramore Live In Kuala Lumpur at National Stadium Bukit Jalil and it’s all thanks to Tune Talk and Nuffnang for the Rock Zone tickets..

Most of all, want to thank Ginny for passing me her pair of tickets and it’s the second time in this year already! She gave me her Stereophonics “This Feeling” Live Gig at KL Live tickets too! :D Now everyone go give her some hits :P

Okay back to the topic..I’ve never really been a fan of Paramore, having only listened to 3 songs on the radio..

But being a rock fan me (or whoever it is), I wouldn’t say no to free tickets! Thanks again Ginny..My treat next time :D

*L>R – Yours truly, Daphne, Derryk, Lisan, Joshua*

Bumped into Lisan and Derryk while staring at the long queue for the numbered seats..

*Long queue*

Lucky for Rock Zone revelers, the entrance is on the other side and we didn’t have to queue at all! Also thanks to Michelle for passing the tickets to me :D

By the way, all photos with my watermark and Youtube videos are all snapped and recorded using Blackberry Torch 9800..

Sorry for the bad quality as I’m still trying to explore its functions and was trying to get the best out of it..

*Crowd at 7.30pm*

We were treated with local acts for the opening, Y2K, their songs are pretty unique I would say, a combo of Slipknot and Paramore style..Yeah, you tell me..

Paramore went on stage at about 8.30pm and they were readied to rock!

Their opening set, “Ignorance” was energy-filled and I started to get into the mood already..

Like I said I wasn’t a true fan of Paramore bu I must say, their opening set has had got me into them and was asking for more from them..I just smirked as a sign to agree to myself..

Hayley Williams the lead vocalist, was very energetic throughout the whole concert..She was running to the left and to the right of the stage without sounding exhausted on the mic!

You want more I know..Just continue to read on with 3 more videos waiting for you :D

Image Makeover By Ana Consultancy @ TANGS4

Few weeks ago, I had attended a consultation session regarding image makeover..The image consultant is none other than Ana Cheong, of Ana Consultancy..

Ana, an image consultant, helps the people who sought after her service to know themselves better and translate the inner strength into the outer image without changing your much of their own personality..

Before the personal consultation, Ana had studied a bit of my personality..So during the consultation, I can see that Ana had put a deep thought on interpreting my personality and how to improve it to suit back myself..

*Putting a deep thought*

The whole consultation is about knowing myself better, from image to communication skills to body language..

Knowing one self better is where I realized which path I should follow best and how to improve my communication skills and some simple knowledge about body language..

*Trying out a new image*

After her study, here Ana was giving me an outlook of what I should do to my image at this stage of my life..

I must say I’ve learned a lot in this consultation and am able to express myself better than before, be it in image, communication skills, or body language..

Two weeks after the personal consultation, few other people and I were in a joint “workshop” to see result of “before and after”..

*The bloggers makeover group*

Attendees were Joshua, Rebecca, Iza, Huai Bin, Thomas, Jamie, and yours truly..

Before I continue, a huge thanks to TANGS Pavillion for the sponsored venue, a private lounge for us to change and make up and all..

TANGS too offered Personal Fashion Styling services and they were a big help! :D

*Before makeover*

So all of us got a “before shot” before we get changed and transform into a new person on the outside and yet same on the inside..

As usual, I went to the workshop with my favourite jeans, sneakers, and a stripe collared T-shirt..

After that we got into changing rooms and tried on few sets of pre-selected apparels where Ana and her assistant Catherine had chosen for us as a result of the makeover..

*The apparels*

Once again, thanks to TANGS Pavillion for letting us try on those clothes..

Read on the whole entry to see the final result of our makeover..Stimzzzz~~~

Was there with the few lucky bunch :D

Photos taken from Joshua Ong and Xiangcool..

Like I said, the event was pretty posh and it’s quite an exclusive one, only people from the few telcos, limited media people, and others were VIPs, if not mistaken..

*The crowd in Westin Grand Ballroom*

The finger food was great and the drinks were thirst-relieving..

It’s so posh and exclusive and VIP-ish where Datuk Jimmy Choo was there as well..

Stunning performances of Sand Art and a nice piano medley totally got the crowd in mood before DJ Goldfish took the stage with his antics..

Games ala “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” was being played as well where the few selected people were going against each other for a Blackberry Torch 9800!

Maxis iPhone 4 Launching @ Gardens3

The hype was already buzzing in the evening of 23rd September 2010 where Maxis officially launched the much anticipated iPhone 4 at the stroke of midnight on 24th September 2010 at The Gardens Hotel’s Grand Ballroom..

Some people were already in queue since lunch time to be the first group to get their hands on the iPhone 4..

I reached The Gardens slightly after 10.30pm and the queue was pretty long, holding at least 200-300 people and still counting..

*The crowd in front of The Gardens Ballroom*

Apart from Harry Potter new book craze, I would never thought Malaysians can be this enthusiastic to own a gadget as compared to what we usually see on TV where Americans camped days before the launching of gadgets like PlayStation consoles, iPad, or even for a movie ticket!

The long queue on a midnight that actually surprised me..If it’s launched in the morning or noon then it’s still acceptable but at midnight?

*Crowd in the Grand Ballroom lobby*

People walking around greeted by Maxis promoters showing them the iPhone 4 and I must say the response was quite overwhelming..

The whole launch event was being broadcast live on terrestrial TV channel (TV3) and also some of Astro channels (Astro Awani)..

*First 60 Maxis iPhone customers*

They did a countdown from 10 to congratulate the 60 first iPhone owners under Maxis network..

After that there were lucky draws to win an iPhone 4 for the members of media as well..

Also congratulations to Kelli and Jenifer to be chosen in the Maxis10 reviewer for iPhone 4..

Now talk about iPhone 4, it features FaceTime for enhanced video calling and Apple’s new Retina display, the highest resolution display ever built into a phone, resulting in super crisp text, images and video..

I’ve seen the comparison between the iPhone 4 and 3GS, it’s stunningly beautifully where it’s heading towards the HD era..

iPhone 4 also features a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, HD video recording, Apple’s a4 processor, a 3-axis gyro and up to 40% longer talk time – in a beautiful all-new design of glass and stainless steel that is the thinnest smartphone in the world..

iPhone 4 also comes with iOS 4, the newest version of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, which includes over 100 new features..
