God Of Carnage Sneak Preview @ PJ Live Arts, Jaya One

First of all, very much thanks to PJ Live Arts and Salina & Associates PR to invite the bunch of us from media and blogs to preview “God of Carnage” at PJ Live Arts Theatre, Jaya One last night..

Was there with Daphne and we definitely had a good laugh after a hectic week and the mount of stress and pressure..

“GOD of CARNAGE” is a 2009 Tony Award winning play which premiered in New York. The play at the PJ Laugh Festival will boast Malaysia’s own star casts of Will Quah, Maya Tan, Megat Sharizal and Lina Teoh..

*L>R – Megat Shahrizal, Maya Tan, Lina Teoh, and Will Quah*

Two young boys, a stick and some broken teeth are the catalyst in this tale of two families. Veronica (Maya), a writer and Michael (Megat), a company wholesaler, are parents to Henry..Annette (Lina Teoh), a wealth manager, and Alan (Will Quah), a lawyer, are parents to Benjamin. The two couples meet to discuss the misdemeanours of their sons..

I have to say the opening part was a bit shaky as I couldn’t really catch what they are discussing about where they were actually talking bout their sons fighting each other..

The conversation was a bit messy as the play were based exactly like the original one in Broadway, so the whole play is set in New York..

Strong English language were used and if you are not quite familiar with the set and the accent you might be the few confused one in the auditorium..

Fret not, the play was done very professionally and they really put up the work and effort in their face expressions and body language..

I bet you will start laughing on the expressions and body language then slowly pick up on the conversation later on..

Their acting was very convincing, IMHO, with the drunk expression, fights, and even something yucky that would really surprise you..

And I have to say it’s consider a rare occasion where you will see celebrities let loose and behave like a kid on stage apart from their supposed-elegant-look at events and all..

So a piece of advice, don’t sit in the front rows..Stay back a bit..You have been warned..

Well, it’s my first time to see a live stage play and it hits the right notes to me..I’m not sure if other plays were this good but I have to say I really like this play..

It’s like watching local sitcom ala “Friends” style, but live on stage in stead of TV..Great acting for a continuous 90-minutes with no intermission at all!

If you ask me, I would give it a rating of 8.5/10 for a first-time experience, plus all the acting especially on, urm, well I shall not spoil it..

You guys go watch it and have fun alright..The rating is solely based on my own opinion and yes I might have exaggerated it but it’s my first-time experience of watching a stage play..

“God of Carnage” have shows on 28th-30th April and 3rd-7th May for the 8.30pm show while 30th April, 1st May, and 7th-8th May for the 5pm show..

The ticket is selling at RM60 and I would say it’s worth the money for a 90-minutes breakaway..

IMHO, don’t bring your young kids with you or your “parents” image might get a little bit of setback..

So, just enjoy the show and do visit for more information..

A little bit of photos here where I’d attended the press conference for the local artistes at The Tavern, GAB..

PJ Laugh Fest – God of Carnage @ PJ Live Arts, Jaya One

PJ Live Arts (PJLA) in Jaya One is bringing back the second annual PJ Laugh Fest with a roar..

PJ Laugh Fest will open with 2009 Tony Awards winning play, “God of Carnage” which premiered in New York in 2009 with Hollywood bigwigs Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini, and award winner for Best Actress In A Play, Marcia Gay Harden..

The Malaysian version will boast our own star casts of Will Quah, Maya Tan, Megat Shahrizal, and Lina Teoh..

For those who don’t know, “God of Carnage” is about two pairs of parents, one of whose child has hurt the other at a public park, who meet to discuss the matter in a civilized manner..

However, as the evening goes on, the parents become increasingly childish, resulting in the evening devolving into chaos..

Boys will be boys, but can the grownups be grown up enough to resolve their differences without losing sight of right and wrong? The facade of civility shatters as the God of Carnage wreaks havoc in the living room and all hell breaks loose in the most hilarious manner!

The PJ Laugh Fest kickstart with “God of Carnage” and its first show is on 28th April (Thursday) 2011 at 8.30pm, with subsequent shows on 29th-30th April and 3rd-7th May for 8.30pm slot..

There are also 5pm shows on 30th April, 1st May, and 7th-8th May..

Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge @ Palace of The Golden Horses

April was a hectic month for me so I definitely need a breakaway, and I had one with a blast..

On 9th April 2011, in conjunction with the Malaysian F1 2011, Johnnie Walker organized the very exclusive Black Circuit Lounge party, the Official Race Party of Malaysian Grand Prix in showing support to its F1 partner McLaren Mercedes at the Palace of The Golden Horses..

I’ve been to quite a number of events but nothing beats the Black Circuit Lounge in my own experience..I mean there sure gotta be some sort of exclusive events before but this is the one I was lucky enough to join the party with the exclusives!

I know he would certainly brought a camera with him so all photos credit to Joshua..

*Black Circuit Lounge entry pass*

Our admission ID came in the form a necklace of the Walking Man and of course a gold colour wristband..

No wristband no entry..

*The entrance counters and tunnel*

Upon entrance, at least 30 sports cars of Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, and the likes of it were parked along the road in front of the party place..

It’s a really VVIP and star-studded exclusive party where celebrities and models were spotted everywhere..

Among those were singers Reshmonu and Suki Low, beauty queens and models Andrea Fonseka, Thanuja Ananthan, Nadine Ann Thomas, sisters Vanessa and Pamela Chong, Carmen Soo, and many more..

DJ Bento of Thailand headlined the exclusive party alongside DJ Sophia Lin, DJ I-Tek, and an old friend DJ Faith..

The visual lights and song mixed of the night were pretty awesome which I guessed it hits the right mood to go with the flow of the Black Label Scotch whisky..

It’s apparent that the crowd enjoyed the party very much regardless of race, nationality, age, and even status!

But at the same time, it’s one rare event that I was happy to see several familiar faces because I didn’t where to stand or go when I first entered the hall :P

*L>R – Daphne, yours truly, Joshua and partner*

Although it was a night of free flow Black Label, I’m glad that most of my friends there are responsible drinkers who won’t go overboard and control their consumption..

Lastly, thanks to Johnnie Walker and Compass for the exclusive passes!

Don’t drink and drive people! Keep Walking! Pun intended, hehe..
