Launching Of iTalk WHOA @ Borneo Rainforest Club

On 7th April, TM launched its newly revamped iTalk brand with iTalk WHOA!, a new platform introduced by TM that is targeted at social media users..

Wilson and I braved through the traffic jam and all to Sunway’s Borneo Rainforest Club, with an empty stomach..

All image taken from Joshua unless stated..

The launch is meant for bloggers and a bit of media people so we actually felt “at home” because of the many familiar faces..

Until that night only I know Adibah Noor is the spokesperson for iTalkWHOA!

*Nigel, Ren, Kelli, Ceddy*

Before they kickstart the event, we dug-in with the buffet style dinner..The prawns and salmons were awesome..

Glad they prepared dinner, appreciated much..

*VIP from TM iTalk WHOA giving speech on stage*

A bit of introduction of what to expect on iTalk Whoa and Q&A sessions right after that..

As according to TM iTalk WHOA people, the platform is best to run on IE browser..I hope in the near future it’s good to run on other browsers as we have a wide varieties of browsers in the market now..

But there was one very weird question from the crowd..The guy asked “Why do you do it on Windows OS and not others?”..

I wonder what he meant by the “other OS”..Hmm..Unless he’s referring to Mac OS and/or OS for mobiles..

Otherwise his question actually sounded like “Why is KFC selling only chickens and not other meat?”..That’s why it’s called Kentucky FRIED Chicken *shrugs*..

Do read on to know better of the highlighted paragraphs and of course the event night..

Pork Burger @ Cristang, 8 Avenue PJ

After having some McD Burgers, Otai Burgers, Ramly Burgers and/or other awesome halal burgers, as a true Chinese we once in a while have to treat ourselves with the awesomest meat that Chinese could have, which is not quite halal..

Of course it’s non-halal..It’s Pork Burger we are talking about..

Well, no offense to Muslims or whoever who doesn’t eat pork, it’s no lie that pork is an “essential” meat among Chinese in everyday’s meal..

Cristang Restaurant at 8 Avenue Business Centre Seksyen 8 PJ offers one of the best pork burgers in Klang Valley, IMHO..

Refer to Google Maps HERE..It’s somewhere behind the KFC near PJ Hilton..

cristang menu
*Cristang menu*

This page of the menu only offers pork burger, that’s what they are famous for..

They also have pasta and steak if not mistaken but since you are here, Pork Burger is a must-try!

As you can see there are descriptions on the menu to help you decide which one to order..

If you are adventurous enough you have to go for the Urban Legend (P7), without any description on it..

And so I did..Here’s what Urban Legend has to offer..

No regret, nuff’ said..

Other than its awesome Pork Burger, Cristang is quite a place for you to hang out to have a drink with your friends..

Hokkien Mee @ Ming Chu, Equine Park (Dai Kar Lok)

If you stay in Equine Park or have had been there, you would most likely know where’s Equine Park Jusco a.k.a Dai Kar Lok..

And right opposite of Equine Jusco is Restoran Ming Chu..

Although Ming Chu is not operating for 24 hours, it’s enough for night ghosts like me to look for food and a place to watch football as well..

*Restoran Ming Chu at Equine Park*

Restoran Ming Chu is like any other Chinese coffeeshop that has many stalls selling variety of food..

During night time, the Hokkien Mee here is awesome possum..

*Hokkien Mee*

Like many other Hokkien Mee, the cook uses charcoal to cook the Hokkien Mee as well..

I wouldn’t dare to say that it’s the best but the taste is definitely quite stim wtf..

To be honest its taste has deteriorate..It’s not as yummylicious as it used to be but I don’t mind to hang out there for some Hokkien Mee and a bottle or two of Carlsberg :P

kl hokkien mee
*Ming Chu Hokkien Mee*

Sorry the lighting was a bit off but oh well, talk later..I couldn’t resist it..The Hokkien Mee is calling my name..

By the way, if you are from Penang, I believe this is NOT the common Hokkien Mee that you have had..

Penang Hokkien Mee is actually KL’s Prawn Mee or some stall put it as Mee Yoke..

KL Hokkien Mee is this black oily pork lard filled noodles..Slurpsss~~

iTalkWhoa A New Social Media Platform

If you have been using TweetDeck for your Twitter, Microsoft Outlook for your email, and organizer for your schedule plannings, why not merge everything into one, that is iTalkWhoa..

The new iTalkWhoa is a Social Media client aka website-cum-application-cum-portal that has few things all merged into one platform..

*iTalkWhoa interface*

As you can see from the picture above, on the sidebar it has buttons for Mail, Contacts, Calendar and Notes, Twitter, and SMS..

As for introduction, let’s just look at the functions available..First off, Mail..

*Mail settings*

In Mail, you can actually integrate your mail (i.e – Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo) with iTalkWhoa..

There’s a long list of mail servers to be chosen from and don’t be surprise if you see any uncommon ones..

Once you have integrate your email with iTalkWhoa, the function of push-email can be enabled for emails to be pushed to any kind of mobile phones!

Good thing is it has 1GB storage for a default account and can sign up for additional storage with charges apply..

I personally think the Push-Email feature is very good because not all mobile phone has the Push-Email built-in so this feature in iTalkWhoa will definitely benefits those who have older versions of mobile phone without having to upgrade their mobile phone..

*Calendar and Notes*

In Calendar and Notes, it acts as an organizer where you could plan your meetings or schedules in a proper timetable with few options to view it..

This can be quite useful for me as I always tend to forget my own schedules especially when it comes to events and meetings coz I sometimes either messed up or have forgotten some of it..

Other than the conventional Mails and Events, iTalkWhoa has even integrated a Twitter-client into its portal..

*iTalkWhoa Twitter*

It’s a good thing that iTalkWhoa has the initiative to include one of the fastest moving application on the Internet and I bet it will not die at least in the next 5 years..

Upon signing up, you will receive RM5 FREE in your account and that RM5 is ready to be used for SMS..

I tried it on my mobile phone and this is what it shows..

*The text I sent to myself*

It’s kinda fun if you send it to your friends who are staying overseas and all..

Once you have chosen the “Country” of the recipient the cost of SMS will appear beside the number..

So you don’t have to worry about hidden charges and all..Just sign-up and check out the rates!

As for VoIP service, you can use it to call any mobile or fixed line..You can also chat for free with another iTalkWhoa user..

Call rates applies to different countries..

I think I’ll leave the more in-depth talkings in next entry when I got used to the portal..

I bet many of you heard of Glee, watched Glee, talked about Glee, and some went gee gee gee gee gee..Eeeee~~geli~~~..

Okay, enough of nonsense..As much or as little as you know, Glee is an American musical comedy-drama that is something much similar to High School Musical (HSM) kinda thingy..

Well from this statement you would have already knew that I don’t watch Glee (nor HSM) but I’m not outdated as it seems..

I don’t watch series nor drama to begin with (I only watch HK drama and Japanese anime) so if you tell me so and so character like another so and so character or whatever, sorry I catch no balls..

But like I said, I’m an up-to-date person, I listened to their OST, at least..

Hey, they won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, so I must give face to at least listen to its OST right..

In their compilation OST of “Glee : The Music, Volume 1″ is a whole bunch of old and new songs but sang by the casts of Glee..It’s a 17-tracks album with the following songs..

1. Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey
2. Can’t Fight This Feeling – REO Speedwagon
3. Gold Digger – Kanye West feat. Jamie Foxx
4. Take A Bow – Rihanna
5. Bust Your Windows – Jazmine Sullivan
6. Taking Chances – Platinum Weird
7. Alone – Heart
8. Maybe This Time – Liza Minnelli
9. Somebody To Love – Queen
10. Hate On Me – Jill Scott
11. No Air – Jordin Sparks with Chris Brown
12. You Keep Me Hangin’ On – The Supremes
13. Keep Holding On – Avril Lavigne
14. Bust A Move – Young MC
15. Sweet Caroline – Neil Diamond
16. Dancing With Myself – Generation X
17. Defying Gravity – Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoworth and the cast of Wicked

The opening “Don’t Stop Believin’ “ by Lea Michele and Cory Monteith is quite a warm-up before you go further into the rest of the tracks..

I can’t really tell you which one is my favourite because some of the hit songs sound good in their own version if compared to the original singers’..

The whole compilation album is pretty good nevertheless..I like it a lot even though I didn’t watch the series..

You can also check out other songs that were being featured in the series HERE..

Now we’ve talked about one of the most talk-a-bout series up-to-date, it’s time for some serious business..
