Last Saturday, 25th July 2009, was the day where Hennessy Artistry has resurrected itself to become one of the powerhouse events alongside Freedom, Sunburst (1, 2, 3, 4), Urbanscapes (1, 2, 3), Heineken, etc etc..
This time around, due to strict ruling from the Government opposing organizers to promote alcohol and cigarette related events, Hennessy Artistry has become Artistry – The Global Art Of Mixing, for the first time in 2009 at Bukit Kiara..
But anyway, didn’t bring my camera around this time coz I was there to party hard, not to take pics~!!
Well, no offence to those who brought their cams coz, I just don’t want to bring my bulky A200..I would’ve bring a compact digicam, that’s if I have one
So I’ll just leech off from those people who has uploaded into their Facebook album and all..Yeah, call me leecher..Hehe..
By the way, all invitations and all people whom I’ve invited, you guys should thank Nuffnang for the passes
That’s the entrance with the huge backdrop of the line-ups..
Some of the people under my guest list couldn’t enter due to some last minute restrictions..Talk about tight security and strict rules..
However, we managed to pull it off..Due to the restrictions, I’ve to run around (just like how I did last year) to accommodate the guests under my list..
They actually restrict Muslims from entering, which is the first time I’m witnessing one very alcohol-related event doing it after so long..
I heard that many of them were looking for me in the beginning of the event but, sorry, I’ve things to do..
Sometimes when you think why do I have to care for other people and that it’s their problem if they cannot enter..Well if you think twice, it’s the same that if you cannot enter, why should I help you?
Say I’ve invited both A and B, just because I’m much closer to A and not B, doesn’t mean I’ll only help A and not B..Doesn’t make any sense, right?
Since I’ve invited them so I’ve to make it up for them as well
IMHO, this year’s set up was much better than last year, more spacious and better access to certain areas..
Last year’s was a bit messed up and badly arranged for the VIP areas..VIPs had to squeeze through the public areas in order to get to their so-called stations..
This time, pretty much of the VIP areas, namely V for VIPs, S for media, O for VIPs, and P for VVIPs, were easily accessible without having the trouble to get into the public crowd..
Was pretty surprised to meet some old friends there, whom I’ve not met for many years..Time passes, sigh..Now I feel a bit nostalgic..
For the record, I had more glasses this year as compared to last year, where I had slightly more than 10 glasses this year, and below 10 glasses for last year..
*Hikaru and I*
See how greedy I was with 2 glasses in my hands..
This is all thanks to the free flow privilege and we are just fully utilizing it XD
Move on for more of the performances and a bit of blog-pimping wtf..
*One Buck Short*
Local artiste indie rock band One Buck Short made quite an impact and I must say that local music scene is making their way up after all the struggles in the past few years..
Support local music yo~!!
*Taiwanese hip-hop group Homies*
Taiwanese hip-hop outfit Homies, consists of actor- music producer Blake, actor-comedian KY, rapper Babyboy and deckmeister Mr Gin. The quartet came together through their love of basketball..
Well, was busy PR-ing around, so didn’t really listen to them..Hmm..
*Dominique Tsai featuring Joe Flizzow*
Dominique Tsai is a Chinese-Russian and she isn’t just blessed with good looks, but also the gift of music..In her acts she even performed duet with local artiste Joe Flizzow, former member of Too Phat..
She’s hot, very hot~!!!
*Fatman Scoop and Dominique Tsai*
One of the 2 main acts of the night, Fatman Scoop in da house yo~!!!
First heard him featured in one of Jennifer Lopez’s song, and you can actually hear his voices being aired in clubs where he told you guys to put your hands up..
The very familiar quote of, “You got a 50 dollar bill get ya hands up…You got a 20 dollar bill put ya hands up..I can’t hear ya..Make noise!”..Ring a bell?
I guess he’s quite down-to-earth, literally, as he got down from the stage and made contact with the crowd..Put your hands up for the Fatman yo~!!
*Ying Yang Twins*
The other main act of the night, Ying Yang Twins, is quite a hit in The States..If you’ve been following news regarding hip-hop and all, it’s impossible you don’t know anything about them..
At the same time, I’m not surprised that A LOT of people have never heard of them..Typical Malaysians, ugh..
Not that I’m complaining, Ying Yang Twins was good enough for the crowd I guess..
I heard that the initial line-up was Ne-Yo, then canceled, replaced with Lil’ Jon..I don’t what reason it was, then Lil’ Jon is replaced with Ying Yang Twins..I was hoping for Colby O’Donnis though..LOL~!!
So umm, some of the photos I’ve leeched from the people that I took photo with
Kit Mey, one of the 16 or so finalists in Miss Malaysia Universe 2009..She came back all the way from from Singapore for this event..Don’t play play
The ever event-shy blogger JunJun-Riko also turned out at Hennessy Artistry, much to my persuasion wtf..LOL~!!
On a side note, I look quite lengchai in this photo..I don’t know why..LOL~!!
Some of the DGMBians..Not all was able to make it that night, we still enjoyed ourselves to some extent though..
Some of the friends who I really seldom meet except for big days like birthdays or CNY or something like that..
*Sin Yee and I*
Last but not least, if everything goes well as according to last year’s planning, this is NOT the last instalment of 2009′s Hennessy Artistry Series..
IF it goes as according to last year, there SHOULD be another one, which would be the last one either in August or September 2009..
Let’s cross our fingers and wait for it patiently..Hehe..
