Nigel’s Birthday @ Carnaval Churrascaria @ Damansara Jaya, SS22

Two weeks ago, on 4th of July 2009, the DGMB celebrated Nigel‘s birthday with a bomb in the afternoon..

First off, few of us went to One Utama to play a bit of Treasure Hunt plus Hide & Seek..

The trick was, Joshua, Andrew, David, Hsu Jen, and I were hidden at a designated location for Nigel to find, based on the clue given on each of his findouts..

First was Joshua, hid in Padini Concept Store, then Andrew in Action City, third was me in Rock Corner, fourth was David in MPH Bookstore, and lastly Hsu Jen in Toys ‘R Us..

Then we blindfolded him at Toys ‘R Us and let him be the blind man to walk around One Utama and eventually to the car..

It’s actually a surprise for him to not let him know where are we heading for dinner..

*Carnaval Churrascaria, Brazilian Restaurant*

We went to Carnaval Churrascaria, a Brazilian buffet restaurant that of course, serves Brazilian food..

The restaurant is at a corner lot nearby Atria Shopping Mall in Damansara Jaya, SS22..It is on the same row as GSC cinema’s HQ, 7Eleven, and few doors away from Maybank..

Not that I know how Brazilian food looks like or tastes like, but I heard it’s quite a good deal to eat in here, hours before we arrived..

Continue for some mouth-watering pics and also an awesome video about the whole celebration ordeal..

In the top left pic, Nigel is still blindfolded when we reached the place..

As you can see, the usual gang of the DGMB of Kelli, Hsu Jen, Aaron, David, Joshua, and I were there for the celebration..Andrew joined us as well..

Not to mention Thomas, Pamsong, and Stanley arrived a bit later on..

It is said that the service in this restaurant is pretty good, and we gave it a test drive to confirm it..

Usually, one would think that buffet, you need to walk around and maybe a slight pushing here and there to grab your food..

But that’s not the case in Carnaval Churrascaria..The modus operandi of this restaurant is pretty cool and, very well thought..

*Garlic Bread and Spicy Chicken*

Patrons will just have to be seated, the food will come to you without you moving a single step..

Yes, it’s a buffet restaurant..

They cook everything on a skewer and carry the whole thing out, walk from table to table and give patrons whatever they have..

*Chicken Ham*

They have almost everything from garlic bread to chicken ham, spicy chicken, beef (steak), lamb, fish, sausages, and even pineapple..

That’s pretty much the food they have but I must say most of it, if not all, are pretty suit a commoner’s taste bud..

The beef and lamb are cook to medium rare, which is actually the best way to eat it, instead of medium well or well done..

Other than those being skewered in the kitchen, there are also cold dishes served in a corner..

*Some cold dishes*

If you had enough of steaks and meats, there are pasta, salad, fruits, and some other cuisines that can be eaten in cold..

As for me, I skipped the whole cold dish thingy, well seated on my place, waited for the waiters and waitresses to bring the skewers out, and just raised my hand..

They bring out, offer you, just say “Please” and “Thank you”..If you still have plenty of meat on your plate, halt him/her from adding more food onto your plate..

Waiter : Garlic bread anyone?

Me : Yes please *lifting right hand*..

I’ve did this at least 6 times, just for the garlic bread..The garlic bread is the awesomest garlic bread I’ve ever tried in like, so many restaurant..

I can just eat the garlic bread everyday in every meal..Stimness..

The food isn’t something to shout about but I must say it’s worth the money..

The whole buffet package costs about RM50-RM65 per pax, depending on what you drink..

The food itself is RM48, and most of us ordered sky juice for an additional RM1, and it’s refillable..

If you eat at TGIF or Chillis or any other place, you could’ve paid at least RM30 for a steak and it’s just one steak..Here, with just RM48, you can have varieties of it..

Of course, the most obvious and best thing in this restaurant is their service..Top notch service I would say..

I’m definitely coming back for more!

*Birthday boy with birthday cake*

A birthday celebration is incomplete without the birthday boy blowing candles on the birthday cake..

The cake was good and we finished most of it despite we were quite full after a wholesome buffet meal..

Joshua video-recorded the whole ordeal..Do check out the awesome video..
