Timeout KL Comedy Thursday @ Little Havana

Well on Thursday night, 6th of November, was my first-time experience to watch a live stand-up comedy..

And no, we don’t have to wait for Russell Peters or Pablo Francisco to come over to Malaysia..We have our very own amateur stand-up comedian, just at Little Havana..

It was organized by Timeout KL and I don’t think this is the first time..Gosh, I missed so much fun..

Entry charge was RM10 only, exclude drink of course..But it doesn’t matter, drinks offered in the menu are at affordable price..

*The center stage*

*David the photographer with Timeout KL poster*

*The blogger team*

Left to right, Hsu Jen, me, Kelz, Nigel (behind), Simon (squat), Joshua, and Aaron..

Well, I was quite anticipated to see what’s offered..Maybe someone as funny as Russell Peters?

*Matt the host of the night and Alfred the son of a hairstylist*

Well, Matt’s joke was kinda cold *shivers down my spine* but I’ve to compliment him for his effort..LOL..

Alfred was actually the third comedian of the night and I so love his “Your momma so nice” and “Your momma so fat” jokes..

I especially like these two..

- Your momma so nice that you don’t have to say please..

And he ended his comic with a bang in Malay..

- Mak engkau gila babi hutan gemuk dia guna SMART tunnel untuk masak lemang!! (loosely translated as “Your momma so piggy fat that she uses SMART tunnel to cook lemang”)..

*Yugi the Yogi Bear wtf*

Yugi was the second comedian..Well I quite like his comics..His were quite local with alot of Malaysian flavour in it..

I especially like his “While I was watching movie of Spiderman..The Malay subtitles came out as Orang Labah-labah..Spiderman 3, Tiga Orang Labah-labah“..

That’s like wtf right? LOL..

*Clockwise from top left – Faisal, time out session, Hishamuddin, Zac*

Faisal was the first comedian and he started off with a little bit of disappointment and boredom..I felt sleepy at that time..

But nice try though for a first-timer..And he’s still a student..

Zac was the 4th comedian and he was quite okay..Telling jokes based on his own lifestyle..Not bad I would say..

The last comedian, Hishamudin (no not our UMNO Vice President running candidate) was quite a bang too..With an ample of racist and political jokes..

Honestly, I love racist and political jokes..They are the best and the easiest to digest..Well maybe not for people who didn’t really follow current issues..

I love his ending part, “Pegang tangan tak boleh, dedah aurat tak boleh, cium tak boleh, ini tak boleh, itu tak boleh..Apa yang boleh??? Malaysia BOLEH!!!“..

And I definitely like his cheeky phrase of saying “F YOU” right in our face..LOL..Shit, I can’t get enough of it..

I’ll definitely come again for the next Comedy Thursday..

By the way, Timeout KL offers a RM10 printout coupon for the next event coz the entry would be RM20 starting next month if I’m not mistaken..

    Hi there,

Am coming over to KL from Australia in June with my boyfriend. We were just wondering if any of the comedy is in English? We do not speak Malay. Could you tell me?

    Kelli

  10. Yatz:

Kelli >> Hello..Yes they are all in English with a bit of Malaysian slang..There are quite a number of foreigners attending the Comedy Night too..So no worries bout it..

Be there on Thursday of the first week of June..Hope you enjoy :)

  11. Kelli:

    Hi Yatz,

Thanks so much for letting me know! Is there anyway we can pre-book ticket as I read that it usually is booked out?

    Kelli

  12. Yatz:

Kelli >> You can look around their website at http://timeoutkl.com and search under Events. I bet you can reserve a table there..

Else you just have to be early to get a seat..It’s that easy :)
