Appointment of Terengganu MB
So, after much excitement and suspense, the result finally is out..
Kijal assemblyman Ahmad Said to retain his Terengganu Mentri Besar post as it is..
I burst to laugh when I heard the news..Remember when some UMNO people got angered when Lim Kit Siang ordered his party assemblymen to stay away from the swearing-in of Perak MB?
They got angered coz UMNO claimed that no one should go against the words of the Royal, Sultan of Perak..
Now that Perak and Selangor have decided and in the process of forming their state government respectively, what is happening in Terengganu?
As dumb as they were, they only know how to criticize the Opposition for just a mere mistake but didn’t take into account of their own problems..
For 2 weeks after the 12th GE 2008 had finished, Terengganu still couldn’t decide as to whom to be the Mentri Besar..
The reason is that the Terengganu palace has chosen Ahmad Said to be the MB, but on the other hand Abdullah Badawi has chosen incumbent MP, Idris Jusoh to continue on with his job..
Ahmad Said has the backing of the royalty, Idris Jusoh has the backing of the Government which the Constitution rules above all, supposingly..
Ahmad Said claimed that he got some support of the other assemblymen while Idris Jusoh claimed that 22 assemblymen supported him..
Even the Perlis MB backed Idris Jusoh for getting more support from its own state assemblymen, even though this Perlis MB was picked by the royal house instead of the Government..
After much hassle, they still couldn’t work it out..
Abdullah Badawi seeked an audience with the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan, whom is the Sultan of Terengganu as well, to solve the problem..
The very next day, Abdullah Badawi supported Ahmad Said as the Terengganu MB without further question..
Even the 22 assemblymen who opposed Ahmad Said were said to pledge their full support to Ahmad Said in the future..
Now, the Constitution has lost and it sets a bad precedent for future reference..
I guess most people in the Barisan Nasional have lost their faith in the PM..
I think Abdullah Badawi will lost his post as the party president, which is also the post of Prime Minister of Malaysia, during the UMNO party election in December 2008..
Even if he wins, he will only win by low margin..
The people have waken up and showed it in the 12th Ge 2008..The insiders of UMNO and Barisan Nasional have also waken up by that and they need some paradigm shifts..
Without paradigm shifts, Malaysia will not go anywhere..
UMNO is a bit cranky now.
