The Kingdom Night-out..
It’s a continuation from where I left off in the previous entry, “The Cochranean Gathering-s“..
The 2nd round of our outing at a kingdom in SS2, PJ, after the reunion at Kaki Corner..
Ok..It’s nothing much related to any kingdom in the world or even our very own Sky Kingdom..
It’s another Hongkie-style restaurant at SS2, PJ, Wong Kok Char Chan Teng (Wong Kok as in Kingdom in Cantonese, and Wong Kok is also the name of a place in HK)..
Ok..This Wong Kok is not ‘Kingdom’ that Wong Kok..Something like ‘Dear’ is not the same thing as ‘Deer’, but has the same pronounciation..
This Wong Kok is something like Famous Corner or something, as in Wong = Famous / Popular (and also king) and Kok = Corner / Horn..
I purposedly put it as ‘Kingdom’ coz it sounds more uumph than ‘Famous Corner’..Haha..
*Ok..I know it’s unclear..What do you expect from my mobile’s quality*
*The red lights reads Wong Kok Char Chan Teng..The green one looks like shit huh..Hahaha*
There is another Wong Kok Char Chan Teng at Leisure Mall, Cheras..Just a small one..
The ambience is like any other Hongkie restaurant in town, such as Kim Gary, Causeway Bay, Tsim Tsa Chui, etc etc..

*Pic contributed by Hikaru*
*My own pic*
*See that uncle.? We shoo-ed him away from the place we were sitting, because he was using too much space*
*The kitchen behind it*
*Patrons like us still hanging around at 12 midnight*
Now you can see the difference between pics contributed by Hikaru (SE W800 – 2-megapixels) and mine (Nokia 7610 – 1-megapixels)..
One thing I have to say, I did really felt I’m in Hong Kong..The ambience of it, the meals, and of course the people..
Honestly, I think this Wong Kok Char Chan Teng has its typical Ah-Beng and Ah-Lian staff, as if they were all hired from HK..
They have this kind of weird hairdo, like any Ah-Beng and Ah-Lian you saw at Petaling Street..
*Ok..This one is not-so-Ah-Beng..Oh, his name on the tag is Waiter 23*
For a regular supper..We ordered the followings..
*This is my Hongkie-style Maggi Goreng (Nissin Fried Mee with Spicy Diced Pork or something) with cold Chocolate..This one was quite ok..Very similar to mamak-style Maggi Goreng*
*Doraemon Mashed Potato with Ham Bread Ball..We didn’t order this but the name is kinda hilarious*
*This is Hkaru’s Can’t-remember-what’s-the-name-of-the-bread Bread*
*This is Julian’s don’t know what almond..It sucks*
*This is Lee Ping’s the Ice Milk Tea*
Ok..I didn’t mean the drink was made out of her milk..Get it.??
The drink is Lee Ping‘s creation, Ping Zhan Lai Cha (Ice Shake Milk Tea), as Ping (her name) = ice, Zhan = shake, Lai = milk, Cha = tea..
So you get what I mean..She created this drink out of no where when she was shaking her body shuffling alone at home..
Thus, this drink was born out of sudden, without a dad..WTF~ Hahaha..
Not all dishes were captured with our cams..Just some of it..
So we talked, chatted, laughed, making noises as if we were the Ah-Bengs and Ah Lians instead of the staff..
Cam-whore is all that matters..Wahahaha..
*Everyone was non-chalant with my cam*
*I guess Justin is the only 1 who showed some enthusiasm whenever I snap candid pics*
*Hikaru (right) laughing hysterically with Weng Soon*
*Bee Yan..No more hidings..I’ll hunt you down..Muahahaha*
*Why is Lum smiling SO sheepishly.?? Hmmm~~*
*Oops..A candid of mine..Why is Weng Soon smiling like that and looking at me.??*
I think we really had fun that night..Laughing around like nobody cares..
Cam-whoring around, playing some fool on the waiters, etc etc..Even the staff staring at us with their weirdo Ah-Beng / Ah-Lian look..
*Why is Weng Soon howling.??*
*Here’s Lee Ping..Cam-whoring alone huh*
*Weng Soon..Don’t kiss me..I WANT MY MAMA.!!*
*Being forced to get out of the shop by the staff by cleaning the floor*
*Weng Soon looked exhausted with all his jokes and tricks all night long..Hahaha*
Here are some videos we captured that night..Enjoy guys..

All I can say is that these are the fake chains of Wong Kok Char Chan Teng. I know this for a fact because me and my family was in penang some years ago and we were in Penang Perangin Mall when we tastyed the best of the best of the best egg tarts in the world. Then a year later, we saw a new restaurant in SS2 open and we thought it was the real deal. When we went there, the food was totally horrible and worse yet, it wasnt own by the same people! these guys are the FAKES in KL! im so ashamed, imagine if i was from penang and found out that there are fakes here.
bruas : hmm..no comment on that coz i’ve not tasted the Penang ones..anyway..live up your spirit and keep on eating..cheers..
